Welcome to Charleston, the Holy City, which is named the number one city to see in Conde Nast!
Come and join us for a weekend that begins at the Hampton Inn at Patriots Point on Friday, October 15th.
After you settle into your room, we will take a drive to downtown Charleston to enjoy the historical narrative provided by the Captain of the Charleston Belle on our scenic sunset Harbor Cruise. Your professional USCG licensed captain will narrate history, sights, and facts about the Charleston Harbor as you pass locations critical to United States history. This family-friendly, relaxing, and insightful cruise is the best way to discover the Holy City and its famous Harbor! The cost is $30.00 per person and will leave the Charleston Waterfront at 5:00 pm, for a cruise from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm. Dinner should be eaten before or after the cruise, as only snacks will be available during the cruise.
NOTE: Due to construction of the International African American Museum (IAAM), there is no parking at the Charleston Maritime Center. The closest parking to the Maritime Center will be in the SC Aquarium Parking Garage located at 24 Calhoun Street, just before the intersection of Concord Street. For those of you who do not want to drive to the harbor, we have arranged to have transportation to and from the Hampton Inn at Patriot’s Point to the Maritime Center at an additional cost of $20 per person. We will meet in the lobby of the Hampton Inn at 4:30.
On Saturday, October 16th, we will attend the 5th Annual Cars on Kiawah Car Show, at Ocean Park, Kiawah Island. Cars on Kiawah showcases the evolution of the automobile from the early 1900s through present day. Over 250 cars make up the display including everything from eye-catching concours-level cars and sleek supercars to classic muscle cars and outrageous rat rods. They have bathrooms onsite, great food and drink options, and wonderful vendors to peruse. The show hours are 8 am to 5 pm, with free admission, but there is a charge of $20 cash for each car attending the show. It is about 1.5 hour drive to this event. If anyone would prefer otherwise, the city of Charleston awaits you for a day of sightseeing, shopping, eating, or whatever else you would like to do.
We will end our day at a dinner held at the Charleston Harbor Fish House, to enjoy a sample of the wonderful Lowcountry delights, as well as an amazing view at Patriots Point. You will be able to order off the menu. However, please register for event as we will need to confirm reservations at the restaurant.

HOTEL INFORMATION - Hampton Inn at Patriots Point (255 Sessions Way, Mt. Pleasant, SC 29464, 843.881.330), The cost of the room will be $139.00 per night, ($160.00 including all taxes and fees) and we have arranged for you to register directly with the hotel. Use the group code MC2 to get the special rate if you call the hotel. All hotel reservations must be made by September 15th to take advantage of the discounted rate. We will have informal social times at breakfast and after events in the hotel lobby for MBCA members and guests.
