Please join the Carolinas Section in Highlands, NC for our Weekend at Highlands Motoring Festival starting Friday, June 10th through Sunday, June 12th. We have made special arrangements at the Brook Trout Inn in Sapphire, NC for lodging. There are only a limited number of rooms available, and all of the rooms have been reserved.
On Friday evening, we will gather at the Brook Trout Inn for a casual meal of local BBQ in their meeting area after you check in. We can socialize and maybe even enjoy some S’Mores around the fire pit (weather permitting, of course). Cost will be $20 per person.
After you have had a good night’s rest, we will meet for breakfast (included with your room rate) in their meeting area at 8:00 am . We will depart from the hotel for our scenic drive to Highlands, NC at 10:30 am where we will take in the Highlands Motoring Festival and town of Highlands. Parking at the event has been arranged in a private parking lot.
While in Highlands, you can see all of the 100 or so classic and exotic cars on display in the Concours show on Saturday. You may also wish to explore the wonderful boutiques and specialty stores in Highlands. You will be free to see as much of Highlands as you like before returning to the Brook Trout Inn on your own. We plan to have dinner at the Osteria del Monte Ristorante Italiano in Sapphire next door to the Brook Trout Inn.
Sunday will be the “High Octane” casual car show in downtown Highlands. We will drive to Highlands after breakfast and park together to show off our wonderful Mercedes-Benz vehicles. All models and years are welcome to join us. We will need to arrive early to get a location where we can park together.
If you will not be staying at the Brook Trout Inn, feel free to join us on Friday and Saturday evening for dinner. Registration is required to attend the dinners and/or to join us for the drive to Highlands.
