The Rules
Teams entered in each of the USRRC Rallies will receive points based on their finishing position in their class in each rally. The points will be awarded in the same manner as points are awarded in the annual national championship. The teams accumulating the most points, in their class (E ,G,L or S) will be the USRRC 2023 Class Champions. Championship Jackets will be awarded to each to the champions.
The rallys will use a smart phone app for timing the contestants’ arrival at the checkpoints. The app uses GPS information from your phone to record your arrival time and will, within a tenth of a seconds, tell you how early or late you arrived. The app will also display your total score as you progress through the checkpoints. All contestants must have a cell phone with them for the rally. Cell phone signal strength is not an issue since you will download all the data needed to your phone prior to the rally. The app is free to download and use for competitors. Go to the Apple App Store or Google Play Store and search Richta. Download the Richta competitor app.
Ties
If two or more ties occur in any class, all teams will be Champion of the class. The trophies will be given to the team with the least total points for the weekend. If the ties remains then the team who finished ahead of the other the most times will get the Trophies. If ties still exist a coin flip will be the determination.
Regional Rallys
The regional rallys will be held with a single class handicapped by equipment level. Select the appropriate level on the registration form, so that we can apply the correct multiplier. See the table below for multipliers. The regional rallys do NOT score points toward the National Level USRRC competition.
E and G | 1.0 |
L | 0.6 |
S | 0.3 |
N | 0.2 |
Event requirements
The Little Appalachian and the three LITE RoadRallys will be conducted in full compliance with the Abridged Road Rally Rules (RRRs) as supplemented by the event's General Instructions (GIs).
The Up The Creek and The Jersey Devil RoadRallys will be conducted in full compliance with the Road Rally Rules (RRRs) as supplemented by the event's General Instructions (GIs).
Each rally team will be required to bring a smartphone that is equipped with the Richta Autonomous GPS Checkpoint App. This app will monitor your car’s position during the rally and will record the precise time at which you arrive at each Timing Control on the rally. Each rally team will be required to bring a completed emergency contact, vehicle inspection, and insurance form to registration when you perform on-site registration.
