About this event
Texas Region SCCA’s 2018 Road Rally program continues with the
TULIP TIME RALLY
You are invited to join us for the next Texas Region SCCA Road Rally. We will tour Collin County, a little bit of Fannin County, and visit a number of cemeteries. Course following will be easy. All roads are paved, except some short sections leading to and inside cemeteries. You will have plenty of time to go slowly in these areas.
Rally Day is Saturday, May 12. Registration opens at 9:00 am at Spring Creek Barbeque, 1993 N Central Expy, McKinney, TX 75071. The finish will be there as well. First car starts at 10:31 am.
You will be directed to a number of area cemeteries. At each you will drive around the property and answer questions from signs or tombstones. We also ask a few questions for you to answer as you drive between cemeteries. You will never be looking for more than one answer between instructions.
This is an SCCA GTA (Games, Tours, Adventures) rally. The course is about 90 miles on public roads at legal speeds. Any street-legal, four-wheel vehicle with at least two people who can read in the car may enter.
The Rally Fee is $20.00 for SCCA Members, and $25.00 for non-members. There is a $5.00 late fee if you are not preregistered here. Page down and click on “Continue” to preregister now. There are four classes: First Timer, Novice (<3 rally trophies), General, and Master (optional class: no trophies given). The Rallymaster is Sasha Lanz.
When you register here, we will add you to the rally mailing list, so that we can send you the rally rules a few days before the event.
Texas Region SCCA (www.texasscca.org) is affiliated with the Sports Car Club of America (www.scca.org). With nearly 65,000 members, and with Regions all over the US, the club offers car related activities in a broad range of automotive events.
This is the second event in the 2018 Texas Region SCCA Championship RoadRally Series. This rally is sanctioned as a Divisional Rally by SCCA, and is a part of the National SCCA RoadRally Championship.
There must be at least 2 people old enough to read in every rally car. The driver must have a valid driver's license and proof of insurance. The car must be in good mechanical condition. If one of the rally car occupants is a minor (under 18 years old), that person must have an SCCA "Minor Release" signed by a parent in the presence of either the rally registrar or a Notary Public. The form is available from email@example.com, or at registration.
