About this event
About this event
Come and join us for a mostly rural mid island adventure! Challenge your friends to join in, starting and ending in Courtenay. It will be a fun day on scenic back roads, mostly paved. The trick is to “stay on time” to avoid any time penalties. Remember, this is not a race, but a precision driving event that pits a team of two, a driver & a navigator, to negotiate some fantastic roads, at challenging, but below legal limit speeds. Sure, it sounds easy, but it’s not! This is a true novice event, so everything is clearly spelled out, with easy to follow instructions, recovery points if you get lost, and talented rallyists with years of experience to (hopefully) get you into rallysport, by answering questions and giving guidance. From the "Novice Drivers Meeting”, scrutineering (checking that your car meets rally rules; also called Tech Check) your car, throughout the event, to the dinner and awards, you will have a BLAST! Smiles and stories, guaranteed.

Event requirements
The maximum number of entries will be 30 cars.
Please be sure to read the supplemental Regulations (Supp Regs).
This rally is paved with a small section of smooth gravel, so no worries about damage.
You will need to have a smart phone with the Richta Competitor app installed for continual operation during this rally. The Competitor app is available for iOS and Android in their respective stores (free).
Since the car you use has to meet basic requirements, mostly safety related, you should read the tech inspection form ahead of time.
If neither driver nor navigator owns the car, you will need to provide signed permission from the car owner to have it used in the rally.
