Test and Tune/Races 4 & 5 - Battle at the Beach
Gimli Motorsports ParkAbout this event
Important Info!
There will be a club operated bbq and snack shack for a few hours on both Saturday and Sunday. All proceeds will benefit capital improvment projects for the club, suchh as upgrades to internet and wireless network for live timing.
We will also be hosting the pancake breakfast on Sunday morning for a minimum donation of $5 a person.
Race Notes:
- The track will be run in normal counter clockwise rotation on Saturday, Sunday we will run reverse rotation. We will allow one 12 minute test session Saturday evening for drivers to try the configuration, but the track will be closed at a reasonable time to allow for evening activities.
- The weekend will account for club points, but it is also being run as a "weekend event". Only one set of tires will be permitted for the duration of the event. We will be marking tires on Saturday and checking them Sunday morning. Anyone attempting to bypass this rule will lose all battle at the beach points.
- Senior Drivers: one weight class per driver only for the event.
- Out of town drivers: at MKA we now use raceivers instead of flaggers. They are a one way communication device with a radio that is operated by the race director only. You will hear the race director in the event of a yellow, red, or blue flag. All other flags will be seen at the start finish line and a quick rundown will be given at the track before we start racing. We will have units for you to rent this weekend, but going forward any racer attending MKA will require one, as we have limited supply to rent. If you require the rental of one, you must reach out to the board at executive@manitobakarting.ca and we will rent them out at a first come, first serve basis.
- One other point to add, we do have showers available at the track, and ample camping space if you require.
