Tech Session: History of the 911

Join the top technicians at Porsche Rusnak Westlake, from 10:00 to 12:00, as they take us on a journey through the evolution of the 911 from the air-cooled all the way to today. We will go on an exploration of the advancements in suspensions, brakes, power trains and the reasons behind these changes. 

There will be plenty of different Porsche models as well such as Boxsters, Cayennes, Macans, and Panameras on-hand to explore and discuss.

As always, there will be plenty of time for open discussion; bring your questions. 

Porsche Rusnak Westlake will also be holding a raffle and offers PCA members a 10% discount (up to $200) on services, parts and repairs as well as the boutique. For attendees who book appointments, the discount will be increased to 15% for up to 30 days after the event (until July 24, 2017).

Mark Leach, Certified Gold Master Technician

A tenured member of our staff, Shop Foreman Mark Leach began his career as an apprentice at a Porsche dealer in Glendale in 1977. He has been a vital member of Rusnak Westlake for 28 years. With Porsche’s very demanding training process to become a qualified Porsche Technician, The Porsche Gold Meister designation recognizes the best of the best and Mark was 1 of only 29 technicians in North America to receive this certification when it was first established. He currently owns 3 air-cooled 911’s- a ’71, ’73 and a ’92. Mark’s passion for cars is reflected by his hard work and dedication, and he will always do what he can to make sure you and your vehicle are handled with the finest level of care.

Lawrence Tewner, Certified Gold Master Technician

Larry is a Gold Master Technician with over twelve years of experience in automotive repair. As a long time ASE Master Tech and a licensed California Smog Tech, he is committed to keeping up to date with the latest industry trends, automotive technology, and diagnostic tools. Additionally, his college studies in Math, Physics and Engineering have been invaluable in addressing complex repairs. Throughout his career, he has been fortunate to work on a broad range of automobiles from modern exotics to vintage race cars; paying particular attention on learning how to service classic Porsche models. The pride he has in his work is only enhanced by Rusnak's commitment to quality service and client satisfaction.

Sam Abergel, Service Manager-Porsche Certified

Sam Abergel is an accomplished department leader, and recognized for his fundamental commitment to both the Porsche brand and the automotive industry. Sam began his career in 1982 by cultivating his passion for cars as a service technician. With over 30 years of experience, he has held several integral positions before being promoted to Service Manager. His fascination for sports cars and Porsche's style and drivability has led him to own several models himself. Sam’s strong leadership skills, his decisive attitude, and broad influence have had a profound impact on the entire Rusnak/Westlake Service Department's growth and success.
