Your dad called. He is sick of getting neck ties for Father’s Day!
This year, surprise Dad with a day at the track! What better way to spend a day with Dad then experiencing the thrill of driving his favorite sports car around the brand new NCM Motorsports Park in Bowling Green Kentucky?
This Father’s Day weekend, the Indianapolis Region of the Sports Car Club of America will host a Performance Driving Experience (PDX) on both Saturday, June 20th and Sunday, June 21st. Come spend one or BOTH days at the track with Dad (**event is open to ALL. No 'dad' required to attend).
All of us have done the burn-out at a red light, or taken that curve at more than the “suggested speed,” imagining ourselves as racers while never leaving our street cars. With Performance Driving Experience (PDX) events, you don’t have to dream anymore! PDX provides an instructional environment for drivers who simply want to improve their driving skills and increase their enjoyment of driving their street vehicle. True to the “run what ya brung” adage, all it takes to be a part of the action is your street car, a valid state-issued driver's license and a helmet.
PDX events are non-competition based. Why? Because the focus is on you, the driver. Plenty of seat time and available instruction make up a PDX; all of which is designed to educate you and make you more confident behind the wheel, both on the track and on the street.
Cost: $250/day or $400/weekend. Not a SCCA member? No problem! Weekend memberships are just $15 (and, you get to apply the cost to a full membership if you upgrade later!)
The schedule will include Seven 20 minute sessions for each of three run groups: Novice, Intermediate and Advanced. -- That's a solid 2 hours of track time each day!
Do you need to be financially creative to get on track? Would you like to come down, but you just don't know if you can afford it? We want you on track and have made some creative options to make track days more affordable. Look at our co-driver options. With co-driving options, two drivers (or more) will share the same car for the entire day. This means you will pay for one car and one allotment of track time (7 sessions). You divide those 7 sessions up between your registered co-drivers any way you choose! Check them out on the registration form.
But wait! There’s more!
On June 20th, held in conjunction with the PDX on the autocross pad, the SCCA will offer a Starting Line Track School at NCM Motorsports Park. This school will help teach Dad how to handle his car and is the perfect place for him to begin his performance driving experience. As a bonus for completing the driver’s school, you can purchase Dad a discounted entry into the Sunday PDX. With this package, Dad can learn to drive on Saturday, and then put those new skills to use Sunday on the track! Check out the SLTS here
After an exciting day at the track, take Dad to the National Corvette Museum to view all of the awesomeness that is the Corvette. While you are there, stop by the café for a bite to eat as you reflect on the day. And finally, cap off the weekend by purchasing an entry into the NCM Corvette raffle. Just maybe you’ll win a brand new Corvette that Dad can drive on his next track day adventure!

You must download and read the following rules for SCCA PDX days. The last page of the rule set is the self-tech sheet. You must complete this tech form prior to your run group. Rules for helmets and automobile safety will be enforced!
