For all of you who have wanted to take your Porsche on track or go to a Driving School, here is your chance! With only 12 spots left as some folks have already signed up, the School at Motorsport Park Hastings (MPH) is one of the safest tracks in the US and it is also the most reasonably priced venue that offers trackside condos and garages.  

If you are interested, please sign up ASAP so that most of the attendees are taken up by our Club.  Please note that this is not a formal PCA event.

I have been acquainted with the owners for over 20 years, have been an instructor there for almost as long and they have been kind enough to offer the members of Schonesland PCA some extra benefits beside the school. Here’s what you can expect from this fun weekend:

Thursday April 30

• We will drive down in the morning as a group, via a route designed by our Competition Director Bob Eddy
• Once at the track we will get a brief rundown of Friday’s Classroom and what to expect of Track Time
• We’ll enjoy dinner together, followed by a private showing of Terry Klatt’s (one of the owners of the track) extensive car and auto memorabilia collection at MPH

Friday May 1

• “2026 MPH Driving School 101 - Class #2”
• Cost:  $425.00
• We will arrive at the track early with the morning primarily consisting of both classroom and some track time.
• After lunch ( plenty of places close by ) the track will be free for running your Porsche continuing the things you learned in the morning.
• On Friday evening, we will get a private tour of the new condo/garages, enjoy another dinner out together.
• There will be plenty of Instructors for all drivers with Bob Eddy and myself assisting as we are both certified PCA DE Instructors.
• MPH events are held rain or shine, so please plan accordingly.

Saturday May 2 (optional)

• “MPH Guardrail Club & Open Track Event #2”
• Cost:  $285.00
• All track time!  Considering that a couple days at a Driving school can cost $4000 and up, this is an incredible bargain!
• It will be your choice to drive back home at the end of the day, or stay overnight to drive home on Sunday
• For those staying overnight, we’ll plan to enjoy dinner together
• MPH events are held rain or shine, so please plan accordingly.

Sunday May 3

• Drive home – for a point of reference, the non-stop drive from the track to the Des Moines Porsche dealership is just over 4 hours

Safety, Car Inspections & Technical:

• Review the self-inspection form and make sure your car is track ready
• Bring the signed form to the event  
• Helmet:  You will need an SA2015, SA2020 or SA2025 helmet, or be prepared to rent one ($10) at MPH.  A limited number of S, M, L, and XL helmets are available during the registration process.
• Targa and Cabriole models are eligible

When to be there:

• Track gate opens at 8 AM
• Student Check-in at 8 AM
• Vehicle Tech Inspection at 8:15 AM

All students are required to wear the following:

• Long-pants
• Long-sleeve shirt (t-shirt or button-down)
• Closed-toe shoes
• SA2020 helmet (rentals available)

What else to bring:

• Open mind & willingness to LEARN
• Small cooler and water (NO ALCOHOLIC beverages until the track goes cold at the end of the day)
• Camp chair
• Rain gear (yes, we run rain or shine!)

Bonus Info:

For those wanting to join as track Guardrail Club members, the one-time initiation fee of $450 will be waived.  The Standard Annual Membership fee of $850 or the Elite Membership fee of $3750 if paid on Saturday would also negate one having to pay the $285 for May 2nd.
