Santa Clara Valley Wineries Trail Tour
Gathering Place: Starbucks, 17015 Walnut Grove Dr., Suite 101, Morgan Hill, CA 95037, 408-465 2120
Directions: Coming South on Hwy 101 entering Morgan Hill exit E. Dunne to the light, turn right onto E. Dunne and take the second right onto Walnut Grove Drive. Starbucks will be to the left behind Walgreens.
Time: 9:30AM
Start your Engines: 10:30AM
Destination: Fortino Winery, 4525 Hecker Pass Hwy, Gilroy, CA 95020, 408-842-3305
The Santa Clara Valley Wineries are a hidden treasure of 33 fine wine growers of various wines, champagnes, and dessert wines without the crowded tourists of the Napa Valley. Many hostess chefs, with small bistros and events such as wine, dine and dance or just sit and enjoy the quiet vineyard outdoors with family and friends.
The event will start with a drive trail tour through downtown Morgan Hill to allow members the opportunity to feel the small town appeal of outdoor causal dining and shopping boutiques. The drive trail tour will proceed south to start the relaxing country road drive throughout Morgan Hill, San Martin and Gilroy seeing many of the Santa Clara Wineries.
At the gathering place you will be provided a copy of a Santa Clara Valley Wineries Map to keep for future visits which identifies the location of the 33 wineries (https://visitgilroy.com) Santa Clare Valley Wineries Map – Visit Gilroy. Before you Start Your Engines, our particular route will be detailed with instructions on our final destination arrival at Fortino Winery with an estimated arrival around 12:00PM noon. Please be respectful of our groups and individuals in the parking lot and within the Winery. The event will conclude around 3:00PM, or as members leave.
Fortino Winery will reserve a place our event and prepare a special menu for members to order Charcuterie food Boards and a paring of wines to select from. Announce you are with the Mercedes-Ben Club of America – SF Section and you will be directed to our reserved area. We will have a dedicated hostess assigned to our group; so please place all orders with our assigned hostess and tips are most appreciated. Be sure to place your order when you arrive as to not overload the Bistro. Do sample the flights of select wines, famous wine cocktails and slushies.
