2022 Rocky Mountain Chapter BMW CCA Ice Gymkhana
Note: Registration will open 12/10/2021 at 6PM and will close end of day 12/15/2021. This event will fill up fast. if the event is full, go on the waitlist. There is a chance you will get in. So please verify that you were registered before coming to the event

Winter is once again upon us! For some this means a trip to the mountains. Some cozy up in their den by the fire, anxiously awaiting the arrival of spring, while others sulk in the slowdown of the autocross season. A few within the RMC BMW CCA couldn’t be more elated for the arrival of snow, ice and winds as it means we once again have the pleasure of sliding around on the infamous Georgetown lake!
This year’s event will look a little different, as we have the lake reserved for two days, rather than the typical single day! This should mean more participants will try their hand at navigating through the autocross style course set gently atop the frozen ice reservoir at just over 8,500 feet. For drivers of all ages and experience, this is a great time to enhance winter driving skills, and understand the limits of your vehicle. There will be a skid pad, and gymkhana course set up, complete with timing. Registration opens Dec 10 at 6pm and will be limited to 25 participants per day, with a priority on getting as many individuals time on the lake. The entry fee of $85 per day will include breakfast and lunch from the Alpine Restaurant.
January 14th and 15th , we will meet at the lake at 8:30am, with a required drivers meeting at 9am. We plan to have practice in the morning, with timed sessions starting just after the noon hour. Spectators are welcome, but should dress warmly and bring their own food. For additional questions, call Tim Schultz at(303) 513 -6638. Event requirements
You must be a BMW CCA member to register, and must choose only 1 day at the initial signup.
Only 1 Day allowed per BMW CCA Member Number. If the event doesn't fill up, Motorsportreg will re-open Dec 18-23 so participants can register for both days.
- The Ice needs to be thick enough and stable enough for us to hold the event
- There are no COVID restrictions at the time of the event that would prevent us from hosting the Gymkhana
- The city of Georgetown needs to confirm our reservation.
Payment will be charged on January 12th. There is a $25 cancellation fee.
The number of participants is limited to 25 per day. Waitlisted registrants will be contacted by the registrar if there are cancellations. Walkup registrations will not be accepted.
We are also looking for 5 volunteers to help run the event each day. All volunteers will receive a free breakfast and lunch. Please register at the volunteer registration event so that we can get an accurate head count.
This online registration system will accept payment by credit card (Visa, MasterCard, Discover) or electronic funds transfer directly from your checking account. We will be using a deferred payment method. This means that a hold will be placed on your credit card for the registration amount, however, we will not actually charge your account until after registration closes
An inherent risk of exposure to Covid-19 exists in any place where people gather. Covid-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and death. By registering, you assume all risks, hazards, and dangers arising from or relating in any way to the risk of
contracting Covid-19. Any current state and county protocols will dictate future decisions made to hold this event. Although masks will not be mandated outside, we ask that any indoor protocols required by the restaurant be honored.
