About this event
Audi Club Northwest and Sunset Imports present Quattrofest 2009 at Portland International Raceway on November 7-8 (Sat-Sun).
This is the signature driving event for our club. It offers much more than just the driving school. There will be ground schools (chalk talks) before the event, door prizes and auction at the Saturday night banquet, and many terrific people to meet.
The two-day driver’s education package for $349 includes instruction, track time, lunch both days, a commemorative shirt, and the banquet on Saturday night.
The two-day lapping package for Intermediate (Solo) or Advanced drivers for $349 includes track time, lunch both days, a commemorative shirt, and the banquet on Saturday night. Lapping for Intermediate (Solo) or Advanced drivers is $200 for Saturday only or $175 for Sunday only, each with lunch included.
Shell Oil is a proud sponsor of our teen activities for this event. We hope to get as many teens involved as possible. With Shell's sponsorship, we are offering a special price of $25 for teen participants in the Saturday clinic. This will be an all day class and will be the best money that they have ever spent on driving. Parents are encouraged to attend the same program (and may share the same car) for $125; that's $150 for teen and parent for the full day of instruction, practice, and fun.
Instructor price is $100 unless you taught at Son of Quattrofest 2009 (Portland) or Matt Ammon Memorial Driving School 2009 (Bremerton), which will qualify for a $50 credit selection. Email me at mardkins@msn.com if you are not already on our Instructor list and cannot see the instructor registration. Instructor package includes lunch both days, commemorative shirt, the banquet on Saturday night, and lapping time on both days.
We will meet on Friday evening, November 6th, for registration and ground school for novices and new drivers at the Courtyard Marriott. One other ground school session will be available Tuesday November 3rd to accommodate those who cannot come out on the 6th. That session will be held at 7:00 at the Mercer Island Community Center.
Saturday November 7th is Drivers Education and Safety Skills for new drivers and novices, and lapping for Intermediates (solo), Instructors, and Advanced drivers. Sunday November 8th is a full day of lapping for all drivers, except teens. Both days are available for single day lapping, and you may attend the Drivers Ed on Saturday without attending on Sunday. The commemorative shirt and banquet are not included in the single day pricing.
Salty's on the Columbia is our venue for our Saturday night banquet. We have a full evening of activities planned for the banquet. Extra banquet tickets can be purchased for $45 when you register. Forza Motorsports 3 on XBOX 360 is one of our event sponsors and is planning some fun activities for the attendees.
All attendees must be Audi Club North America members for this event, except Teen/Parent Clinic participants. You may purchase membership at time of registration using the Membership Pack (a modest deal this way!) or go to http://www.audiclubna.org/about/join.html to join directly with ACNA.
The Marriott Courtyard Portland North Harbour and the Marriott Residence Inn Portland North Harbour are our host hotels. Registration information will be provided in your confirmation email. Special rates have been secured for the Audi Club Northwest.
Event requirements
Intermediate (solo) and Advanced drivers will have lapping available on Saturday and Sunday so please register for Quattrofest Lapping. Novices and New Drivers please register for Quattrofest Driver Education or contact me or John Ewald to discuss alternatives.
To qualify for the driving exercises on Saturday morning and the teen/parent coned practice on Saturday afternoon, convertibles require an approved roll bar that passes the "broomstick rule" such that a brooomstick from the top of the winshield to the top of the roll bar is over the head of the driver. Stock roll hoops such as those on the TT Roadster qualify.
To qualify for lapping on Saturday and Sunday, convertibles require an approved aftermarket 4-point roll bar in the car and 4-point ASM, 5-point or 6-point harnesses. The roll bar must pass the “broomstick rule” such that a broomstick from the top of the windshield to the top of the roll bar is over the head of the driver. The TT convertible, A4 Cabriolet and S4 Cabriolet will not qualify for tech inspection without an aftermarket roll bar. Both front seats require 4-point ASM, 5-point or 6-point harnesses if a passenger is present.
Sport Utility Vehicles (SUVs) are not permitted on Saturday or Sunday.
Helmets are required for lapping. Helmet Requirement is Snell 2005 or Snell 2000 (checked at Tech on Saturday and Sunday mornings). The SA (Automotive), M (Motorcycle) and K (Karting) designators are approved. The Club has 25 new Bell open-face rental helmets in various sizes (Snell-rated SA2005) if you need to rent one for this event. Please reserve early and indicate your size preference in the online registration and payment. If they are all rented out and you still need a helmet, please make a note in the comments that you need one. However, we can not guarantee that one will become available, and you will not be allowed to participate without one.
