Pine Mountain HillClimb
Event #1 of the 2024 Appalachian HillClimb Series
Presented by Summit Racing, Backroads of Appalachia and Grassroots Motorsports Magazine

2024 Pine Mountain Supplemental Rules and Scheule2024Pine Mountain Hillclimb Supps.pdf

The Pine Mountain HillClimb will take place at the Pine Mountain State Resort Park in Pineville, Kentucky, April 19-21.  The 19th will be a paddock load in day, with a car show in downtown Pineville that afternoon.  Competition runs will be on Saturday and Sunday only.

The event is part of the Appalachian HillClimb Series and is hosted by SCCA’s East Tennessee Region with support from Blue Ridge Region and Central Carolinas Region.

The two-mile, 10-turn Pine Mountain HillClimb layout features an elevation gain of 650 feet, is just two miles from the city of Pineville, KY, and because it's part of a resort, features guest lodging and cabins, along with a full restaurant and catering services on site. Participants will be able to reserve a limited number of rooms or cabins when registering for the event.

For those unfamiliar with HillClimb events, SCCA HillClimbs take place on a section of mountain road that has been closed to commuter traffic. Competitors take turns seeing who can complete the course the fastest. Unlike a road course, which may have multiple levels of barriers, or an autocross where rubber cones are usually the biggest risk, a HillClimb course is lined with trees and rocks. Getting to the top unscathed is a mix of bravery and discretion. HillClimb cars need roll bars and racing harnesses at a minimum, and drivers need approved flame-retardant racing suits and other safety gear.

Entry Fee: $325 (If received by April 12.) Full refund if withdawn by April 12 midnight.
Late Entries: $400 (If received after April 12.)
Weekend Membership: $25 (If not an SCCA Member.)
Lodging: $XXX-$XXX: (Limited rooms, while available.)

Event will only be open to SCCA members through March 9.

Extra caution should be exercised with non-traditional vehicles (e.g., trucks using racing slicks or tires with less than 200 tread wear rating.)
