About this event
Emory Motorsports is a premiere builder of modified Porsche sports cars, mostly 356s with a few early 911s thrown in for good measure. Known as the ‘356 Outlaws’ since the ‘80s, the shop specializes in sheet metal fabrication and we pride ourselves on preserving as much “Porsche DNA” as possible in the cars they build.
Emory designs cars to capture Porsche’s competitive spirit, therefore cars sport a race- or rally-inspired aesthetic and achieve a performance envelope far greater than when they left the factory. We manufacture many of our own components, including our proprietary 4-cylinder engine.
In this informative session, the Emory team will describe their approach to Porsche restoration — with a particular emphasis on rust detection and repair. We'll see how to spot rust on a car that is undercoated and where to look for that rust on vintage Porsches. They will also show us the process and method of repairing rust and sheet-metal damage on these cars.
