Do you dream of being a race car driver? Think you are the best driver you know (and don’t mind finding out the truth)? Wish you could push your car to the limits without governmental intervention? Want to start a sentence with, “When I was racing…”?
Come learn about the fundamentals of autocross competition, the thrilling practice of high performace driving skills, with the emphasis being the 100% Maximum you can get from your car... Accelerating, Turning and Braking in a safe environment at resonable speeds and get exposure to real timed driving events in your street car and become a safer driver.
The Novice School will take place Saturday, June 19th, 2010, at Sanderson Field near Shelton. Students MUST be preregistered.
Price:
Non SCCA Member - $50 plus $5 for the required weekend SCCA membership.
SCCA Annual Member - $50.
Students receive a voucher for free entry to one Northwest Region SCCA autocross event in 2010.
The event entry voucher is worth $30 alone; the education at the school is priceless!
Your class will be led by National Champions and Professional Autocross instructors. Registered entrants will be emailed a booklet of information prior to the event; study it well.
This will be an all day event; please bring your own food and drink, including enough water to stay hydrated. We do not provide lunch, and there are no vendors on site, but we will have a lunch break and good food is available close by. Tip, DON'T miss lunch time at the track, this is when the Instructors get to play and you may have the chance to ride in a National Championship Winning Car With A National Championship Winning driver, an experince that you will never forget.
Sanderson Field (Port of Shelton) does not allow any smoking on site!

Helmets:
If you have a helmet you can use, please bring it. The organization only has so many loaner helmets, so the more who can provide their own, the better. Your helmet must be rated Snell 95 or newer (usually says on a sticker on the inside under the padding).
Car Prep:
Make sure the fluid levels in your car are correct... Oil, Power Steering, Brakes. etc.
Check your tire pressures. Your recommended tire pressure is on the sidewall of the tire; you'll want your pressure set to the pressure recomended. If you need help just ask.
You should remove all loose items from your vehicle including the trunk; ALL items including floormats . The less you bring in your vehicle to the class, the less you need to remove when you get to the class.
No “R” compound tires (use only street tires, with treadwear rating of 140 or greater).
The gate to the site may be locked so if you have guests coming to watch, we can only guarantee their entrance if they arrive with you.
Bring snacks or extra drinks if you want to. Lunch will not be provided.
There are portable toilets on-site.
No alcohol, drugs, or firearms are allowed on site.
Be prepared for any forecasted weather (and maybe un-forecasted as well).
SCCA Insurance rules require all participants must have a valid driver’s license.
