NSXPO 2013

Virginia International Raceway

About this event

Come join the NSX Club of America (NSXCA)
for a High Performance Driving Event School

at VIR October 15 - 16th 2013

NSXCA's highly professional and safe track events, ran annually for the past 14 years, offers students four 25 minute track sessions per day along with 3 classroom sessions per day. You'll appreciate the extra time per day that our HPDE event provides over many other club events*.

Our track events are known for having small run groups and this event will be capped at well below the typically 100 or more drivers that some clubs have.  Open track and Instructor run groups enjoy track sessions with very low numbers, usually less than 30.

It's like having your own track day for a fraction of the cost!

Event is Closed for student registrations

Additional Instructor Registration will be accepted until filled

For the Novice Driver VIR provides an 14 turn track making it a superb event for the first time student.  The NSXCA is a professionally run safety conscious club with experienced instructors providing a low-key supportive environment for learning High Performance Driving.  The skills you learn on the track can help you be a safer driver on the road.  Why don't you make this the year you try High Performance Driving?

For the Experienced Driver VIR is one of The Tracks to drive for a 2 day High Performance Driving event.  NSXCA provides Instructors and classroom time for all students to help you get the most out of your track time allowing you to improve your performance.

NSXPO, the NSXCA's annual convention, has been hosting a track event in North America and Canada since 1998.  You do not need an NSX to join us though you'll have the opportunity to drive with quite a few on the track. Come join us.

If you are a new Instructor for our organization please contact the registar prior to registering.

*Red Flag events could alter the session times.

Event requirements

  • No Timing Equipment Allowed.  Our Insurance prohibits it.  Our insurance covers the NSXCA for liability.  You are not covered by this policy for collision.  You should check your own policy for exclusions. We strongly urge you to sign up for track insurance to cover you during the event.  You are responsible for your vehicle and that of anyone else involved with you in a collision at this event including any damage to the track or facilities.
  • You must have a valid Driver's License and be 18 years or older
  • Guest's that are 18 years or older are welcome though their names should be submitted to the registar at least 1 week prior to the track event.
  • No SUV's or Trucks.
  • Convertibles must have an approved roll bar that passes the broomstick test; 1" of space between the Helmet and the bottom of a broomstick when the broomstick is placed across the roll bar and the windshield.  Factory installed rollover protection, provided by rollbars in the S2000 and some Porsches, is acceptable.  If  you have any questions regarding the suitability of your vehicle please contact the registrar  prior to registering.  The VIR track and our insurance policy have a very strict policy on convertibles and they will not be allowed out on the track unless they meet the appropriate specifications. It is your responsible to verify that they do prior to registering.  Thank you!
  • A signed Tech Form should be completed prior to your arrival at the track.  No tech inspections will be completed at the track.  Your car should be inspected no more than 4-6 weeks prior to the event.  Tech Forms will be available at NSXPO2013.com closer to the event.
  •
  • SNELL Helmet, 2005-SA or 2010-SA certification.  We have a small number of loaner helmets that will be available for Novice Drivers at the track.  We can't guarantee that we'll have your size, but please email the registrar if you are interested in using a loaner helmet.  SNELL 2005 Helmets are fairly reasonable right now and can also be used for carting.  By picking up a SNELL 2005 Helmet prior to the track event you'll have one less thing to worry about on track day and you'll be ready for next year too!
  • Equal safety provisions for driver and passenger for student and instructor cars. Example, if the drivers seat has a 6pt harness then the passenger seat must have the same.
  • Long sleeve shirts and pants required; preferably natural fibers.
  • All student cars must have a passenger seat
  • The event will be held rain or shine.  The club may cancel or close down the event if the track or weather conditions pose an inordinate safety concern for the participants. The decision is that of the Chief Instructor's and Event Coordinator.

NSXPO participants will register for the track and the social sessions at the same time
when they arrive on Friday evening at the Social Headquarters Hotel.  NSXPO participants should
bring their helmets to the social event registration on Friday evening.

Registration for non-NSXPO participants will be
on Monday from 5 pm - 9 pm at
the Track at the big red barn

or Tuesday at the track from 7 am - 8 am.  Non-NSXPO participants
should bring their helmets to registration.  The drivers meeting is mandatory for all drivers so the event staff has the opportunity to relay any necessary information.
