National Museum of Nuclear Sci and Hist Tour

Nat Museum of Nuclear Sci & History

About this event

Porsche drivers are usually interested in more than cars.  The people we have met at the Roadrunner Region PCA events are well-rounded and well-informed.  One of the cultural opportunities we have in New Mexico is access to nuclear science.  The National Museum of Nuclear Science and History is located right here in Albuquerque, 601 Eubank Blvd, SE, just past Costco, near Kirkland Air Force Base.  On Sunday, February 4th, from 1:00-3:30 PM, Roadrunner Region PCA members will be taking an educational tour of the museum exhibits. A Docent will provide us with a history of the Manhattan Project and the Trinity Test, guide us through the Heritage Park with its vintage airplanes, and discuss the peaceful applications of nuclear science.  As a bonus, we are truly fortunate that the DaVinci Machines: The Exhibition, happens to be at the Museum right now.  Some of us saw this exhibit at The Albuquerque Art Museum; and it is fabulous! This is an interactive experience with full-size machines constructed to explore Leonardo DaVinci’s designs.  They are not only informative, but also beautiful works of art.

To join us on this excursion, register on motorsportreg.com and pay the $13.00 fee online. Registration starts January 18, and ends February 2. Don’t miss this opportunity!
