Here is more about the movie:
RUSH portrays the exhilarating true story of two of the greatest rivals the world has ever witnessed—handsome English playboy James Hunt and his methodical, brilliant opponent, Niki Lauda.  Set against the sexy and glamorous golden age of Formula 1 racing and taking us into their personal lives on and off the track, RUSH follows the two drivers as they push themselves to the breaking point of physical and psychological endurance, where there is no shortcut to victory and no margin for error.  If you make one mistake, you die.

Two-time Academy Award® winner Ron Howard (A Beautiful Mind, Frost/Nixon), teams once again with fellow two-time Academy Award® nominee, writer Peter Morgan (Frost/Nixon, The Queen), on RUSH.  The epic action-drama stars Chris Hemsworth (The Avengers) as the charismatic Englishman James Hunt and Daniel Brühl (Inglourious Basterds) as the disciplined Austrian perfectionist Niki Lauda, whose clashes on the Grand Prix racetrack epitomized the contrast between these two extraordinary characters, a distinction reflected in their private lives.  Also starring Olivia Wilde (TRON: Legacy) and Alexandra Maria Lara (The Reader), RUSH is produced by Andrew Eaton (A Mighty Heart), Howard, Academy Award® winner Brian Grazer (Apollo 13, A Beautiful Mind), Eric Fellner (Senna, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy), Morgan and Brian Oliver (Black Swan) and executive produced by Cross Creek Pictures, Exclusive Media, Todd Hallowell and Tim Bevan. Universal Pictures will distribute the film in North America.  RUSH was shot on location in the U.K., Germany and Austria.  RUSH is R-rated so children under 17 are not allowed to attend unless accompanied by a parent or adult guardian.

Here is the background on our support to Children's Hospital:
In 2011 the ACNW Board raised our visibility in the community with an annual commitment of $1,000 or more to help uncompensated care to the kids at Seattle Children's Hospital.  For several years prior contributions went to The SOVREN Guild of Seattle Children's Hospital as part of the annual Audi Car Corral held at the Pacific Northwest Historic Races on the July 4th weekend.  The amount from us for 2011 was $1,105, doubled for 2012, and our commitment for 2013 has already been met but we want to involve a larger number of people in the club as contributors.  The ACNW Board decided to make this entire event fee tax-deductible for Audi Club members. Everyone has the opportunity to select an additional small donation as part of your event registration.  Each registration produces a receipt that you can use with your tax return.  These funds are consolidated and donated once per year to The SOVREN Guild's Children's Checkered Flag Club (CCFC).  All of us are recognized as "Audi Club Northwest" each year inside the front cover of the Pacific Northwest Historics program.  Thank you all, for the Kids!

Event requirements

A current Audi Club North America membership is not required for this event.  We are inviting our friends from local car clubs and organizations in the area to join us for this great evening.

Audi Club Northwest (ACNW) is funding this event as a benefit to all our members -- and for Children's Hospital uncompensated care.  Please consider helping Children's with a contribution greater than the minimum donation.  Every dollar helps.

RUSH is R-rated so children under 17 are not allowed to attend unless accompanied by a parent or adult guardian.

Send John Ewald an email and let him know if you are unable to attend.  This is a charitable event that will not be refunded if you cannot attend.
