About this event
When was the last time you came out to Baywood? The little town West of Los Osos that used to be a Navy training area with it's own Post Office. Many people have not come out to the gem on the bay or even heard of it. On April 30th, California Central Coast Porsche Club will host, “Get to Know Baywood”. Our little town of only 3 blocks, has two hotels, the famous Merrimaker Bar, five restaurants, a beer bar, several small businesses, a market (The old Post office), and a pier with access into the Morro Bay Estuary. We even have our own Farmer’s Market on Monday afternoons!
One of our advertisers in the Coastalaire magazine, Baywood Inn, has donated the use of their conference room in the just completed new wing of the hotel. We will have a catered lunch supplied by the La Palapa Mexican Restaurant, located next door. La Palapa, in my humble opinion, is one the premier Mexican Restaurants in the area. Every item is made from scratch, in house. Arrival at 12:15 or so, lunch served at 1:00. The Baywood Inn will have the grounds and several rooms open for touring before or after lunch. The rooms are decorated perfectly, the landscaping is beautiful, located right across the street from the Morro Bay Estuary. We have room to display your beautiful Porsche in blocked off areas. Nothing could be better than sixty or so Porsches taking over Baywood. Have lunch, check out the surrounding areas then meet at the Merrimaker Beer Garden for live music.
We have arranged a live band,The Moonsone Band, to play in the Merrimaker Beer Garden, starting 3:00pm, across the street from the Baywood Inn. The band specializes in East Texas Country. Did you know, if you look up dive bar in Wikipedia, the Merrimaker shows up? You will be surprised how the bar has changed in the last year. I think the saying is “Gentrified”. The Beer Garden is beautifuly landscaped with a laid-back atmosphere. What else would you have in Baywood, if not laid back. Come join us for fantastic afternoon!
