We as car people all aspire to have a garage filled with the vehicles we love. Sunday March 20th we will have the privilege to tour the "garage" and an amazing collection of Mercedes-Benz automobiles assembled by a man who has done just that. Long time MBCA member Pat Matthews has graciously agreed to let us tour his collection of 15 classic Mercedes-Benz all housed in a spectacular building which includes a display room, work shop, machine shop and spare parts room. Pat has a great passion for the brand having owned, driven, repaired and restored many examples over more than 30 years. This collection includes everything from coupes, cabriolets, gullwings, icons of luxury and performance from the 1950's to sought after models from the 1960's. This collection is located in the hills outside of the small Sonoma county town of Glen Ellen.
Attendees are urged to register for this event as the car count will be limited to 25. We can have more than 25 attendees but the parking is limited to a maximum of 25 vehicles.
The day will begin with the usual meet and greet at our designated start point. Starbucks at 2155 Town Center Plaza, West Sacramento CA 95691. We depart promptly at 9:30 am to start our approximately 1 1/2 hour drive to our destination. This drive will be mostly highways and major roads though it will become more scenic as we cross into Napa and Sonoma counties. We are scheduled to arrive at 11:00 am and will have until 1:00 pm to converse and view the collection and beautiful grounds. Departure will be promptly at 1:00 pm and embark on a scenic and windy 20 minute drive to our lunch stop in Yountville, CA. This will conclude our drive. Lunch will be no host as there are several fantastic restaurants for your culinary entertainment. This day promises everyone in attendance a chance to be up close to many of the most amazing automobiles ever offered by Mercedes-Benz with no disappointment to be had. Please register early.
