Max Track Time Car Control Clinic

About this event

To master the art of high-performance driving, a driver must be willing to challenge the car’s limits. However, at high speed, in an expensive machine, where the walls are just a little too close for comfort, the feeling of the car moving around under you may cause panic or doubt – is this slide about to become a spin or is it one of those perfectly manageable moments drivers experience hundreds of times throughout a race? Worse yet is driving on track fearful of your next spin because the cause feels so random and unexplainable.

What separates an experienced driver, with good car control, from the novice is the ability to instantly identify when a slide has crossed that threshold and how to respond quickly with a skilled combination of steering and footwork. This car control clinic will help drivers bridge the gap between novice and veteran drivers. Through a combination of classroom instruction and in-car training at Barber Motorsports Park's world class skid pad, this course will give the drivers the tools they need to master the art of car control.

*This event satisfies the WRL probationary requirements for skid pad attendance.

Key Event Information:

Open to all experience levels: No previous on-track experience required
Valid Driver's License required
Street cars welcome - helmets not required
Sessions will be hosted on the Barber wet skid pad
10 students (3 half-day available)
Personalized in-car instruction provided by Johan Schwartz, a professional racing driver & coach holding and the Guiness World Record holder for the World's Longest Drift!
Half-day and full-day sessions available
Bring your own car or rent from us (rental spots limited)
