Audi Club Northwest and Achtuning are proud to present the Sixth Annual Matt Ammon Memorial Driving School and Teen Driver Clinic at Bremerton Motorsports Park, May 19-20.
Who was Matt Ammon? Matt Ammon bought his new Nogaro Blue Audi S4 in May of 2001 and became very active in local chapters of Audi Club North America in Ohio, Illinois, Virginia and Missouri before coming to the Seattle area in the Summer of 2006. Tragically, he was taken from us in November 2006. In his short time with us Matt brought his enthusiasm, skill and knowledge. He quickly became integrated with the local Audi community and Audi Club Northwest. When asked what modifications should be made to your car, Matt would be quick to answer, “The first mod should be driving school.”
Saturday’s Driver Education ("DE") is not like the experience when we first earned our drivers license. This is an advanced DE course that is encouraged for all drivers, teens, novices or intermediate drivers. It is an exciting opportunity to learn how you and your car work together in real life situations on the street and highway. DE students will participate in a number of exercises (slalom, emergency braking, collision avoidance, skid pad) on Saturday morning and then run the DE Autocross in the afternoon. There are just 34 slots available in this program.
What is an autocross? Drivers navigate through a course by following a route of cones that make up turns, gates and slaloms. Autocross is an excellent way to practice the car control skills learned in the morning's driving clinic exercises.
More experienced drivers can register for the All-day Autocross on Saturday, which is held on a second course layout. The All-day Autocross is for practiced drivers looking for lots of runs! For enthusiasts, this big autocross is a chance to sharpen your skills for the new season.
On Sunday, we have our All-day Lapping or high performance driving school. What is lapping? Using street rules, with strict passing rules enforced, instructed lapping on a road course puts multiple cars on the course for 20-30 minute sessions. This is not racing; there is no side-by-side braking and passing is only in controlled zones. This is another great way to learn and practice car control. People who have completed a DE course and are 18+ years old are invited to participate. Anyone who drives on the interstate should attend at least one lapping event to practice skills at highway speeds.
The Teen Driver Clinic is discounted to $25 for young drivers 16 to 19 years old. Register early: There are only 15 spots available! This clinic is designed for the beginning driver, teaching valuable skills such as emergency braking, collision avoidance and car control. A parent, guardian or authorized representative must accompany teens younger than 18 to the facility.
Parents of teen drivers are encouraged to attend the Teen Driver Clinic as a participant! Take the same clinic as your teen; you’ll be surprised how much you can learn together! A special package price of just $79 ($25 teen +$54 parent) puts each of you in the same exercises and practice so you can share the experience. You'll be able to talk about driver skill using the same terms, and have fun together. Teen and parent must register individually using the selections available on the registration page. You can share one car for this event; each of you will have the same driving time.
Adult drivers 18+ may choose from the following event options:
- Two-day price of $225 for Driver Education on Saturday and Lapping Day on Sunday.
- Two-day price of $195 for the All-day Autocross on Saturday and Lapping Day on Sunday.
- One-day price of $100 for Saturday-only Driver Education and DE Autocross.
- One-day price of $75 for Saturday All-day Autocross.
- One-day price of $145 for Sunday Lapping Day.
Registration pricing includes lunch for each day you participate. Guest lunches are available for $12.
Sunday Lapping attendees must be Audi Club North America/Audi Club Northwest members. You can easily become a member when you register! Or you can join on the Audi Club North America.
Saturday-only participants are welcome to come back on Sunday to see us put the skills learned into action and talk with the new enthusiasts you've met. It is okay to bring friends with you too. You may be able to arrange rides with designated instructors on Sunday to experience first-hand what a lapping day is all about.

Event requirements
Everyone must sign the Waiver for Audi Club Northwest’s insurance coverage when coming onto the facility. This requirement includes drivers, instructors, teens, guests, and visitors. Parents must also sign a Teen Waiver on behalf of participating teens. No exceptions. Please contact the Event Master prior to the event with any questions.
Chalk Talks are required for first time attendees and will be held Saturday morning at 9 am at the Bremerton Motorsports Park.

Helmet Requirement is Snell 2005 or later (SA2005, M2005, or K2005) for Saturday on the All-day Autocross and Sunday Lapping. Helmets are supplied by the club for the all-day autocross and can be rented from the club for Sunday Lapping. Helmets are not required for the DE Exercises on Saturday morning or the DE Autocross on Saturday afternoon.
Convertibles do not qualify for Sunday’s high-speed lapping event unless equipped with aftermarket 4-point roll bar and 4-point or 5-point harnesses in both front seats. Sport Utility Vehicles (SUVs, SAVs), trucks, and other high-center vehicles are not permitted on Saturday or Sunday. Email the event master if you have questions about your car qualifications.
ACNW will attempt to accommodate special dietary requirements if requested. However, meals are provided by third parties and circumstances may not always enable ACNW or its vendors to meet every special dietary need.
Cancellation Policy for this event: It is the entrant's responsibility for preparing and bringing a vehicle meeting the technical requirements. If your car fails morning tech at the track and cannot be fixed, you will not be able to run and you will not get a refund.
Cancellation by an enrolled driver received before the registration closing date of May 15th entitles the driver to a 90% refund (100% less payment system fees), or 100% credit at a future Audi Club Northwest event within 1 year.
Cancellation by an enrolled driver received on or after May 15th is non-refundable and will likely not be entitled to a future credit.
No refunds will be issued due to halting an event for any reason - rain, incident, etc.
