About this event
Join us on June 22 for a great day of enjoying our Porsches, 2 door or 4 door. Our driver’s meeting will be in the parking lot north of Cozy Cafe in Johnston at 8:30AM. with a departure time of 9:00AM. The first leg of the drive will take us on back roads to Marshalltown for lunch at the Tremont Grill, family owned with a good selection of salads an sandwiches. Then, on to the Iowa Valley Scenic Byway (less a bad stretch of road requiring some use of US 30) to the Amana Colonies. The Iowa Valley Scenic Byway takes us on a ride through the rolling country-side following the Iowa River Valley. The Byway is anchored by two distinct cultures. At the western end of the byway is Iowa’s only Native American community, the Meskwaki Settlement. Sorry, no time to stop and gamble. At the eastern end are the seven villages of the Amana Colonies. Following an afternoon stop in the Amanas, we will head back to Montour using parts of the Iowa Scenic Byway to Rube’s Steak House in Montour for a steak dinner personally cooked to perfection by each of you.
Event requirements
There will be no fee, as there will be personal checks at both the lunch and dinner restaurants. We do need a count for each of the restaurants, so register accurately!
