About this event
The PCA Redwood Region will be sending a contingent of members and cars to Murphys, California, for an amazing event:
The Ironstone Concours d'Elegance Weekend!
We have secured a block of 17 rooms in downtown Murphys between The Victoria Inn and Murphys Historic Hotel & Lodge (Check in Friday Sept 23rd, Check out Sunday Sept 25th)
The properties are across the street from each other and are convenient to restaurants, bars, shops and wineries in the area!
Murphy’s is also proximate to historic towns such as Angel’s Camp, Columbia, Sonora and others.
There will likely be PCA-Redwood Events (rallies, dinners, etc.) driving up to, back from and while in Murphys. More to come on these events later.
There are also plenty of wineries, shops, restaurants, and back roads to be explored individually depending on your tastes.
*Signing up here on MSR is for tracking purposes to be sure you can participate in the Redwood Region Club Events, but does not make any reservation at the hotels nor purchase any Concours tickets.
The hotels must be contacted by telephone to release the room to you from our block. You may of course make completely separate arrangements
Tickets for the Concours events will be available, in May, at https://www.ironstoneconcours.org/concours-delegance.html*
For 25 consecutive years the Ironstone Concours d’Elegance has been held on the 1100-acre estate of the Ironstone Vineyards Winery and Historic Museum in Murphys, California; in the heart of the famous 1849 California Gold Rush.
The show features over 300 period-correct automobiles through 1973 including classic, vintage, antique and race cars, vintage trailers and commercial/military vehicles as well as agricultural engines and a display of modern exotic cars. Unique to Ironstone is the pre-1920 race car rides on a dirt track, Amphicar rides in the lake and a race car engine start. The 26th anniversary event to be held in 2022 will feature a new addition of speaker forums for both race cars and classic cars with industry leadership addressing the spectators.
Proceeds from the Ironstone Concours d’Elegance benefit Central and Northern California youth in agriculture, notably Future Farmers of America (FFA) and 4-H. In addition, the nonprofit Ironstone Foundation has helped fund the California State FFA headquarters in Galt, California; scholarships in partnership with the California State Fair; and the Calaveras County Fair scholarship program. Over $1,000,000 has been donated since our first event.
