Join Us for the 2019 Hilton Head Concours d’Elegance!!!

MBCA is returning to the Hilton Head Concours d’Elegance!

Be part of our return to the 2019 edition of the renown Hilton Head Concours d’Elegance this November 1st thru the 3rd at the Port Royal Golf Club on beautiful Hilton Head Island.  This year is going to be our year!  MBCA has designated Hilton Head 2019 as a multi-regional event that is being supported by the Eastern, Southeastern and Central regions.  We are looking for cars for the Saturday Car Club Showcase and for the Sunday Concours d’Elegance. 

Car Club Show Case

We have been given a prime location on the field by the Hilton Head Concours team for Saturday November 2 to display our cars in Car Club Showcase and have been told that we can show up to 40 cars in the Saturday Car Club Showcase to tell the Mercedes Story and we can have at least 6-8 cars in the Sunday Concours d’Elegance.

Roadsters/SL’s

Convertibles

Do you have a car that would qualify? On Saturday morning we’ll line our cars up on the 18th fairway to tell our story and have all 40 of our cars on display for the enjoyment of the spectators.  This should be a truly spectacular showing of a variety of Mercedes-Benz models. 

We will select from the cars entered in the Saturday Car Club Showcase up to 15 cars to tell the "Mercedes-Benz Story".  Our plan is to begin the story starting with the early sedans/coupes, show the evolution of the Mercedes roadsters from the 300SL to the AMG GT roadster and finish off with a series of classic Mercedes Convertibles.  These cars will be in the front row and be parked in sequence to tell our story.  The only restriction for cars to be shown on Saturday that are not in the front row is that they cannot be late models (i.e. 2013-2018 models)

The Sunday Concours d’Elegance

Sunday cars will have to enter separately with the Hilton Head Concours d'Elegance selection committee to secure an invitation to the be part of the Sunday Concours d'Elegance.  All Concours d’Elegance applicants must meet the following requirement:

Vehicles must be manufactured before 1974 and not shown at the Hilton Head Island event in 2017 or 2018 to be eligible.  Nominations will be reviewed by our Selection Committee.  Nominations will be accepted through middle of June 2019

If you have a truly classic Concours quality car you should submit it to the Hilton Head Concours selection committee for consideration to be invited to the Sunday show. Submit your Sunday Concours d’Elegance registrations here, http://www.hhiconcours.com/register-a-vehicle.html.

This will be a Mercedes weekend event.  We’ll have a club driving activity on Friday for those who do not participate in the Hilton Head Concours sponsored drive.  On Friday night we are planning a club dinner at a local Hilton Head eatery for those who choose not to go to the Concours Gala at the Airport.

• On Saturday evening we’ll have another club dinner at another local eatery where we can talk about the day’s events and prepare ourselves for the spectacular Sunday Concours d’Elegance.

The Hilton Head Concours d’Elegance

Lodging:

We have secured a block of 20 rooms at the Hampton Inn, which will serve as our host hotel and headquarters at a rate of $149.00 per night.  The hotel is very close to the Port Royal golf course and will sell out fast so you should reserve your rooms early by contacting the Hotel at 843-681-7900 and mention that you are with the Mercedes Club.  If we book enough initial rooms; they will add more rooms to our block. The hotel has free parking, breakfast and plenty of space for those who are trailering their cars to park their trailers in back of the hotel.
