About this event

Haywood Hosts: Virginia International Raceway

Thursday April 2nd, 2026 - Full Course

8 Hours of Open Track Limited To Just 40 Cars

    Event Operations:

Drivers have the entire day to spend on track in an open passing environment. Limited to just 40 cars, traffic will be light giving you the perfect opportunity to practice, test and tune, and enjoy one of the best tracks in the United States.

Because this event is point-by optional, drivers must have an active, non-provisional, competition license from a national sanctioning road racing organization such as the FIA, IMSA, SCCA, NASA, SVRA, BMWCCA, PCA Club Racing, or equivalent body. Time trial, regional, and provisional licenses will not be accepted. If you are unsure if you meet these requirements, please contact us directly.

    Pricing:

Vehicle & Driver Entry - $1400

Additional Driver - $100

Please note: In order to maintain minimal traffic and open track for all drivers, an entry includes access to the track for one vehicle and one driver. If you are planning on splitting that track time with a second driver, who is sharing the car and thus track time with the principal driver, please add an additional driver to your entry. If you wish to have two vehicles on track at the same time, a full entry is required for the second vehicle and driver.

    Refund/Cancellation policy:

Due to the limited entries for this event all registrations are final. In the event of a participant cancellation no refund or credit will be given.

Event requirements

    Driver Requirements:

Drivers must have an active, non-provisional, competition license from a national sanctioning road racing organization such as the FIA, IMSA, SCCA, NASA, SVRA, BMWCCA, PCA Club Racing, or equivalent body. Time trial, regional, and provisional licenses will not be accepted. If you are unsure if you meet these requirements, please contact us directly.

Drivers under 18 years old must have a parent or guardian present and on-site at all times.

All drivers must follow the protective clothing requirements below.

    Protective Clothing Requirements:

All drivers must wear a helmet rated Snell SA2020 or higher.

Drivers in street vehicles must, at minimum, wear closed-toe shoes, long pants, and a long sleeve shirt made of cotton or other non-synthetic fibers.

Drivers in race prepared vehicles, defined as, “any vehicle in which the cockpit has been altered or modified in any way so that any part of the chassis or any firewall has been exposed” must have a one-piece SFI- or FIA-rated driver’s suit with a minimum of two layers. Any one-layer suits require fireproof underwear to be worn. A current SA2020 or
higher rated competition-approved helmet and closed-toed shoes, either leather or Nomex recommended. Nomex gloves, balaclavas and socks are also recommended, as is an approved head and neck restraint system.

    Open Top Vehicle Requirements:

All open top vehicles, or vehicles without a fixed roof, must be equipped with a fixed roll bar. Roll bars that terminate below the top of the Operator’s or any passengers’ helmets, shall not be approved. MOST factory rollover protection is not sufficient for motorsport use. If you are unsure if your open top vehicle has sufficient rollover protection, please contact us directly.

All open top vehicles must be able to pass the broomstick test. The broomstick test involves laying a wooden dowel/broomstick/etc. across the windshield frame and the roll bar with the driver seated in their normal position and wearing their helmet. The driver must have 2in of clearance between the dowel and their helmet. NOTE: If you have a non-production-based vehicle/kit car and cannot prove that the windshield frame is a structural item (letter from the manufacturer stating so), the broomstick test will be performed to the front shock tower/structural chassis point instead of the windshield frame.

open top vehicles that have an available roof are recommended to drive with the top up or with a top installed. They must still pass all above mentioned requirements even with a removable top attached.
Drivers of open top vehicles are encouraged to wear wrist restraints.

    Vehicle Tech and Safety Requirements:

A pre-tech inspection is required of all vehicles within 30 days of the event. Please see your confirmation e-mail for the link to the tech form.

A hands on tech inspection will also be provided as a courtesy the day of the event. When you come to the tech inspection please have your vehicle, tech form, helmet, and fire suit (if required) ready and accessible. Participants are responsible for the safety and condition of their vehicles. Final ruling on vehicle safety is ultimately subject to the Lead Tech Inspector’s discretion. Refunds will not be given for a vehicle failing to pass tech and safety.

    Vehicle Harness Requirements:

If aftermarket harnesses are installed, they must meet the following requirements:

Harnesses must be FIA or SFI rated.
The only 4 point harnesses permitted are the Schroth Profi II ASM, Profi II ASM FE, and Porsche Belt for Carbon Seats. The Schroth Quickfit, Quickfit Pro, Rallye, and Rallye Cross are NOT permitted. 4 Point harnesses must still meet every requirement below this to be permitted.

The shoulder harness belts shall be mounted behind the driver, to a dedicated structural harness location (not the back seat buckles or vehicle floor), and at no more than a 20-degree downward angle from the shoulders. There should be an individual belt for each shoulder (no “Y” type belts permitted).

Seats must have provisions for harnesses. Belts may not pass through a removable headrest. Harness provisions must be separate from one another, with each belt having its own pass-through. Anti-submarine belts must pass through a dedicated slot and not run over the front of the seat.

All belts shall be in like-new condition (not frayed, cut, etc.).

Each harness strap shall have its own mounting point, be mounted with SAE grade 5+ hardware and with large diameter washers to spread out the load.

While not required, it is highly recommended to use a head and neck restraint system compatible with the installed belts/seat and helmet.
