This is another opportunity to participate in Single Class Racing for FV.  Although the Mid Ohio event is 'Pro Type' and therefore provides NO points, this event will be part of the Formula Ford Festival to be held under the 'Festival' option of SCCA Club Racing Majors program. Although this is a "Majors" event, it is a "SPECIAL FESTIVAL" event and is therefore not part of the Conference Points program - but does offer points towards the overall National Points program which DOES apply towards a Runoffs invitation.

The purpose of this registration is to get a list of people that would plan to compete at this event and we need to make a decision by the first week in June.

The event will consist of 5 sessions for each of the groups - Currently including FF and F600 ... and possibly Formula Vee.  A 2 day event, Saturday will consist of a 20 minute practice, 20 minute qualifier a 30 minute timed race.  Sunday will consist of a short warmup and then a 50 mile or 45 minute feature race.  SRF was intended to participate, but has apparently bailed and we have been invited to fill the gap in the schedule.

The probable entry fee for this event is $495.  If you are not aware, Barber also hosts a very nice motorcycle museum and we will likely have some discounts to it for entrants.

It is interesting that the current members of the "small formula group" are about to become the ONLY cars allowed for this MAJORS Event.  It would be nice to put up a good field and have a good show.  Barber is a very challenging track with a great FLOW and is a LOT of fun to drive.  It has aspects of the Laguna Seca corkscrew, Daytona horseshoe and Mid Ohio Madness, so it therefore provides some interesting practice for the next three years of Runoffs.

It is a 'short box' track and either 3rd gear works reasonably well.  I have also run it with a long box and it's tolerable as well.

We would like to have at least 15 cars for this event ... remember .. it's SINGLE CLASS RACING!!
