First Settlers Region 55th Anniversary Weekend

Please join your First Settlers Region friends for a weekend of camaraderie and celebration at the Wintergreen Resort for our 55th Anniversary/Spring Charity Event.  Enjoy a weekend of fun and relaxation at this beautiful location surrounded by the Blue Ridge Mountains.

This is event is open to PCA members and their guests.

       

Event highlights:

~ The registration fee for the event is $55 per car/couple/family, NOT per person.  For most of you, select a quantity of (1) when you register.

- FRIDAY, 2 May

On Friday night at 4:00PM, join us in the FSR Hospitality Suite for Happy Hour, then at 6PM, we'll head over to Beer, Brats and Bingo!  We’ll enjoy a traditional German Meal (okay... mostly German) while getting reacquainted with old friends, remembering our Porsches that have come and gone, and swapping lies about lap times.  Test your knowledge of our favorite marque with a friendly game of Porsche Bingo.  Everyone will receive a game card, additional cards can be purchased for a $5 donation to our charities.

Dress for Friday night is casual.

~ Friday night dinner cost is $40 per person.

- SATURDAY, 3 May

Continental breakfast will be available at "The Lookout" at 7:30.

~ Continental breakfast is $10 per person.

At 8:40AM, we'll conduct a drivers' meeting and depart at 9AM sharp for the fun run through the mountains to Devils Backbone Brewing Company for lunch and some great local brews.

~ There is no cost for lunch at Devils Backbone.

After we return, the fun continues at 2:30PM with the Shine & Show at "The Lookout". If you're proud of it, bring it!  This will be a low key, tops only "concours" to give us all an opportunity to socialize and enjoy each other's examples of the marque we so love, so don't be bashful or think your car is not nice enough... this ain't Pebble Beach, or even the Air & Auto Classic for that matter.  It'll be a great photo op as well.  You will have a chance to dust off your car before the Shine and Show if you desire.

Freshen up after the show and join us at the FSR Hospitality Suite, which will open at 5PM.  The official festivities begin at 6PM with no host cocktails and a Silent Auction for Charity, which will feature some spectacular items available for your bidding.  Proceeds will support First Settlers Region charities (please bring your checkbook!).  Dinner will begin at 7PM on the terrace overlooking the beautiful Shenandoah Mountains.  Besides the view, the evening will be highlighted by our guest speaker, Derek Daly, championship racer and Formula 1 driver.  He'll also be signing copies of his book, Race to Win, which is available for purchase here when you register for the event.  Awards from the Shine and Show will also be presented. 

Dress for the dinner event is resort casual.  What the heck is resort casual?  For the men, no ties required.  For the ladies, you always know what to wear.  But be advised, there may be an informal "coolest Porsche tie" contest.

- SUNDAY, 4 May

After breakfast (on your own), we'll have a drivers' meeting at 10AM, then head out for another mountainous fun run to the James River Brewing Company in Scottsville, where we'll taste some more great local beer and enjoy lunch before heading back home.

~  Lunch at James River is pay as you go.

**Lodging: 

Lodging at Wintergeen can be booked through their reservations office, (855) 969-2937.  Studio rooms are $144.38/night and a one-bedroom condo is $156.52/night.  These rates include taxes and resort fees.  Larger units are available, just ask when you call.  You must mention "First Settlers Region Porsche Club" to get the group rates, which close on 15 April, so make your reservations before then.

**55th Anniversary T-Shirts:

An event exclusive, anniversary t-shirts are $15 each and can be ordered on the registration page.  They are quality, 100% t-shirts in black with a special 55th Anniversary version of the First Settlers logo (image above) silk-screened in color on the left breast.  They're available in Mens and Ladies styles.  Production deadline for ordering t-shirts is 10 April, so please order before then.

**Race to Win, by Derek Daly:
