Diablo PCA Region Thunderhill DE Event

Thunderhill Raceway Park

About this event

Come join Porsche Club America Diablo Region for a Driver Education track event at Thunderhill Raceway in Willows, CA., sponsored by Porsche of Fremont.

THIS EVENT IS FOR PORSCHE CARS – no matter which end of the car the engine is in!

This event is open to drivers with no track experience up to advanced level. We will have three separate run groups for Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced with 5 x 30 minute sessions. Passing will be left side only with mandatory point-by in all groups.

We are a Porsche club and not a driving school or a driving business, we run successful, safe and friendly track events each year. However, we do not race, time trial or time laps. We limit our events (in this case to 60 cars) so that we can offer plenty of room on track and lots of track time. The registration fee includes a full buffet lunch in the Clubhouse.

IMPORTANT: we have just two Beginner Group registrations available.

We have closed Instructor registrations - thanks for a great response...

Intermediate and Advanced drivers are welcome: we have room in both groups!

General Information:

All cars must pass a safety inspection within 30 days of this event.  Information on safety inspections is listed on the requirements page.

A no-host group dinner and check-in, for those who travel up the night before, will be at Casa Ramos in Willows at 6.30pm on.... Further details will be provided to all registered participants close to the day.

Registration Fee: $240 if registered on or before March 9th, cancellation fee $25. No refunds after March 9th. Registration is $260 after March 9th (non-refundable). Instructors $50. Lunch is included with all registrations.

Event requirements

This event is open to all people who drive Porsches!

IMPORTANT STUFF

1.    Registration is Critical -- priority for instructor allocation and acceptance into this limited event is decided by date of registration. In the unfortunate event that you register but we don’t have an available instructor, or place available, you will not be charged for registration or a cancellation fee.   Your credit card is not charged at time of registration.  It will be charged just prior to the event taking place.

2.   You will be assigned an instructor unless:

  • You have been signed off  “OK to Solo” by a Diablo Region DE Instructor, or
  • Your profile on Motorsportsreg indicates you have attended a number of track events as a solo driver in the recent past.

3.    You must present a completed safety inspection form (which certifies that your car has undergone a safety inspection by an authorized person within 30 days of the event) and a valid driver’s license during registration at the track. Diablo Region PCA will assign and supply sticky numbers for your car which attach to the glass of your windshield and rear window. Please contact the track registrar at trackregistrar@diablo-pca.org if you need a copy o f the safety inspection form.

4.    We will have two free safety inspection events.  No need to register, just show up at one.  They are fun social events too, with snacks or pizza!

  • Saturday, March 3rd at Porsche of Fremont, from 9:00am to 1:00pm.  For directions to Porsche of Fremont, please visit their web site www.porscheoffremont.com
  • Tuesday, March 6th at Kahlers in Dublin from 6:00pm - 8:30pm. For directions to Kahlers, please visit their web site at: www.kahlers.com

6. Event details, schedules and instructions will emailed to you about 1 week before the event.

7.  All registered participants will be provided a full buffet lunch in the Clubhouse.
