Celebrate our 75th Anniversary on August 30-31 with the opening rounds of the NASCAR Cup and Craftsman Truck Series Playoffs! 

Friday:

• For those who come in on Friday (and I hope it is most), here is the breakdown:
  • 12- 2 pm Arrival: Can unload their cars at Manheim and drive them over to the display area in Fan Zone
  • 2 – 8 pm Arrival: We will open up grandstands for fans to watch Truck Series practice and qualifying (from 3-5 pm). The Fan Zone will have activity going on with pedestrians (and we have an event at the NASCAR Stage for fans from 5-8 pm), so have to limit cars being driven. Two Options:
    • Unload car at Manheim and drive it past the guard and turn off once get to the paved parking lot on the left (down around 100 yards). Then push the car rest of the way – it’s not that far (yellow line).
    • Or, take truck and trailer and go to the blue area marked off behind stage, unload car, then push it to where it needs to go in the reserved SCC area (yellow line). Will have staff that can assist in pushing cars. Will help to know timing of arrival.

Saturday:

• The Fan Zone opens at 8 a.m., so we have to have vehicles in place early. If can’t get there until Saturday morning, need all vehicles to arrive no later than 7 a.m. This is the same time all parking lots open. Wish would be to unload at Manheim and drive the race cars over. If not, will need to know so we can try to get truck/trailers down King Blvd. that leads to the SCC Fan Zone area. All has to be complete and out by 7:45 a.m. since we open Fan Zone at 8 a.m. Truck race starts at 12 Noon (Green flag around 12:20 pm). Can depart once green flag is waived. We are planning to have a band at the conclusion of the Truck race to play for a bit while we will be setting up for the annual Terrance Carraway 5K (had to move from Thursday), that goes off at 5:30 pm (but will be prepping on track with timing system, water stations, sign in, etc. for that event.

Sunday:

• Fan Zone Opens at 12 Noon. Race starts at 6 p.m. (actually 6:20 p.m. green flag). Can start taking cars out once green flag.

As we have done in the past, won’t be any laps during this weekend for the SCC. Those reserved for the spring. But, we love having you and the others there to show off those beautiful machines. As we did in the spring, will offer each person coming the below:

Each person will receive the following as far as credentials/admissions/tickets:

• • • 1 Saturday NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Pit/Garage/Infield credential for Saturday – also good for grandstand.
    • Darlington Raceway Infield pass for Sunday (No pit/garage) – gets you in the infield only on Sunday.
    • Parking for each group who bring a car/race truck – Same area as before in the Broadcast TV Parking at Gate 32 off Race Track Road. Those who are camping won’t need a spot here. Also, for those folks without a race car/truck, we will ask them to park in the free parking atop Petty Blvd like in the past.
    • Sunday Grandstand Tickets - Know many will depart for home once race starts but let me know how many grandstand tickets for Sunday. Would like to place in their envelopes when they go to get credentials/parking in the admin office so need to know in advance.

Other Items:

• Camping – let me know who needs a camping spot at the top of Petty Blvd.
• Hotel – Debbie was able to reserved a block of rooms at the Springville Suites in Cheraw (just over 35 minutes from track). Has a 48-hour cancellation policy.
• Track Laps for Charity will be Wednesday late afternoon.
• Credentials/tickets. Pick up same location at the Admin office (pink on map).
