Welcome to the Dads in the Doghouse Gravel Trial.   The event website has information at https://sccnh.org/event/dads-in-the-doghouse-gravel-trial/

You are an important part of the Safety Network required to run this event.  Please arrive at Team O'Neil by 7:15 AM on Sunday morning.  Assignments will be sent in an email, typically Friday night.  You will meet up at the garage area to be teamed up and sent to your locations.  

Schedule for the day:
Sunday June 21
6:00 AM – gates at Team O’Neil open, main entrance. Sign waiver before entering
6:15- 7:45 AM - Scrutineering open (early is best! Tech closes at 6:45am)
7:00-7:15 AM - Volunteers arrive and meet at the garage
7:00  2 pass recce meeting at the Taco
7:15 – 8:15 AM 2 pass recce
8:30 AM - Mandatory competitor meeting
8:45 AM – 12:15 PM – Morning stages (one pass recce before each stage configuration)
~12:15-12:45 PM – Service/lunch
~12:45-4 PM –Afternoon stages
~4:45 PM – awards and departure

 

Be prepared:  You will be provided with a lunch but should bring your own beverages (nothing alcoholic until after the event).    Lunch may arrive for the early break, ~11:00 or maybe not until the 1:00 break and will be delivered to you.  Have snacks and drinks as you need to keep you satisfied otherwise.  Sunscreen, bug spray and appropriate clothing and shoes should be considered.  If there is a chance of a shower, a raincoat may be advisable. If you have a camp chair, it may be useful depending on your assignment and the weather.

Marshals that are paired with Ham Radio operators will ride with the Hams typically.  Marshall's cars should be parked in the lot below the garage.  Marshalls should bring a couple of pens and a clipboard if you have one.  You'll be tracking cars as they go by.

At the end of the day, please return paperwork/log sheets and envelopes to me (Scott in the Toyota Tacoma).

At the end of the day, be sure to see Becky Best for your collectible worker decal.  She will be in the service area.

Event requirements

Description of Volunteer Positions:

Steward/Safety - these are positions that are determined during event planning and generally not available as a volunteer position to sign up for.

Gate - oversees having all people entering the facility sign the waivers and then give them wrist bands.

Control  - Start and Finish Controls, each a team of about 5 poeple that handle the paperwork at start and finish controls, enter data into the scoring computer, count down cars at the start, and do the actually finish timing.

Timing - works with the main computer to enter times from cards and photos and verify times being put in scoring program by start and finish.

Sweep - usally a team of 2 in a 4wd vehicle with special equipment, used to move disabled vehicles and help with course set-up.

HAM radio operators - individuals with HAM radio licenses and their own equipment, either installed in their vehicle or hand held.

Marshals - usually work as half a pair, teamed with a Ham radio operator.  The team monitors and records cars passing a points along the race course.  May also be responbsible for logging penalties and resetting marker cones on the course.

 

During registration, please be sure to pick your sandwich choice.
