Cascade Sports Car Club's Road Rally program offers beginner-friendly time-speed-distance road rallies, lasting three to four hours, starting and ending in the Portland area. These events are open to everyone - club members and non-members, all types of vehicles. Road rally is a game you play while going for a drive in the country. Come drive with us!
CSCC proudly presents a Halloween tradition -- the 56th anniversary Ghouls Gambol Road Rally. Who says you don’t have a ghost of a chance? You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll howl at the moon!
Entry requires a street-legal vehicle, a licensed and insured driver, a navigator, and a smart device (e.g., cell phone or tablet) running the Competitor Richta GPS Checkpoints app (app is free).
$20 per car for CSCC members
$30 per car for non-members

Optional Decorated Car Show: 9:30 am*
First car out: 10:01 am
First car arrives at finish (approx.): 1:30 pm
Results emailed: after all cars finish
*An optional decorated car contest will start half an hour before first car is due out. Teams that choose to participate are asked to leave an empty space between cars. If you choose to get out of your car, please wear a mask and maintain adequate social distance. Make sure your car number is easily seen on your decorated car. A ballot will be provided with your materials. Write your decorated car winner choices on your ballot (two votes per team) and send an image of your ballot, along with photos of your decorated car and other teams’ cars, to the rally organizer before the end of the mid-rally break. There will be prizes.

Online registration is required. Day-of-event on-site registration will not be available. All communication about the rally will occur via email. Watch for emails and respond promptly.
After registering by the October 26 midnight deadline, you’ll receive instructions to complete the virtual check-in on Thursday the 27th. You’ll need to register your assigned car number in the Competitor Richta app, e-sign the required event insurance waivers, and confirm your team’s registration information.
After you’ve completed these check-in steps, you’ll receive the route instructions on Friday. You’ll need to print them. Friday evening there will be a Q & A Zoom meeting.
This event is conducted in accordance with Cascade Sports Car Club’s Road Rally Rules and in compliance with the Cascade Geargrinders Coronavirus Message.
The driver must have a valid driver’s license and carry minimum insurance coverage(s) as required in the state where the vehicle is registered.
Each entry team must carry a smart device (e.g., cell phone or tablet) running the most current version of the Competitor Richta GPS Checkpoints app. Instructions for downloading and using the Richta app will be provided as part of check-in.
All occupants of the vehicle registered for this event - driver, navigator, passengers - must e-sign the required event insurance waiver. The link to e-sign the waiver will be provided as part of check-in. For occupants under age 18, a parent or legal guardian must e-sign “on behalf of a minor”.
