Cascade Sports Car Club’s 56th Mountains to the Sea road rally offers an easy to follow scenic drive on paved less traveled roads starting in northwest Portland and ending at Rockaway Beach.
This all-day tour-style rally includes time-speed-distance GPS-timed checkpoints, time of day restarts, and a Monte Carlo section. Route instructions are accompanied by official mileage. Checkpoint passage controls are identified in the route instructions.
Entry fee:
$50 per car for CSCC members (either driver or navigator is a Cascade member)
$75 per car for non-members

First car out: 10:01 am
First car arrives at finish (approx.): 5 pm
Results emailed: after all cars finish (approx.): 7 pm
All 2021 events are conducted in compliance with the Cascade Geargrinders Coronavirus Message.
After completing online registration by the Sept. 15 midnight deadline, you will receive an email on Thursday the 16th, providing further instructions including your car number assignment, instructions for registering your car number in the Competitor Richta app, and a link to e-sign the required event insurance waiver. Once you’ve completed these check-in steps, we’ll email the route instructions on Friday. You’ll need to print them. Friday evening there will be a Q & A Zoom meeting.
On Saturday morning, leave the start by your assigned out time. Follow the route instructions to the end.
Results will be emailed after all teams have completed the course. Saturday evening, weather and COVID permitting, we may have a beach fire. Bring your beach blanket and a piece of firewood if you are inclined. Optional dinner boxes can be ordered ahead.

Event requirements
This rally is open to everyone. It will be helpful to review the General Information and Road Rally Rules specific to this rally. Pay attention to defined terms in the Glossary.
Entry requires a street-legal vehicle, a licensed and insured driver, a navigator, and a smart device (e.g., cell phone or tablet) running the most current version of the Competitor Richta GPS Checkpoints app (app is free).
All occupants of the vehicle registered for this event - driver, navigator, passengers - must e-sign the required event insurance waiver. The link to e-sign the waiver will be provided Thursday before the rally as part of check-in.
A parent or legal guardian must e-sign a parental consent waiver for participants under the age of 18.
