The California Central Coast Region Porsche Club will hold a Driver Education at Big Willow Racetrack at Willow Springs Raceway for PCA members and non-PCA members on April 3rd., 2022. We will have beginner, intermediate, advanced and expert sessions. Instruction will be available. PCA requires at least four days track experience or be signed off by an instructor to drive solo. If your eligibility is in question, please contact Bob Bruington at Aircooled911sc@gmail.com.  This not a Porsche exclusive event, many other cars are qualified to join.

Dewain Dement of DK Racing School has volunteered to set up braking, turn in and apex cones for our use. Dewain will give a short talk during the Drivers meeting explaining how to use the cones. If you want further information about the school the link is here: DK RACING SCHOOL

We have rooms available for $125.00 per night at the Towneplace Suites Lancaster. The hotel rooms are all suites with a small kitchen if you would like to cook your own meals. Starting 1/1/19 PCA has required a head and neck restraint devise for any car with 5 or 6 point harness systems. Please visit https://www.zone8.org/assets/docs/2021/2021Z8RulesRev2.pdf  for the complete set of rules. Instructors please note, if you have a passenger in your car, he or she, must have equal restraints to yours including head and neck restraints.

Registrations after March 27th, 2022 will result in an additional $25.00 fee.

A free commemorative long sleeve t-shirt is included. Registrations after March 18th may not receive a shirt due to lead time for printing.

2022 DE rules require helmets be Snell SA2015 or newer.

This is  a rain or shine event.

Registration at the track will open at 6:30 AM and close just before the mandatory drivers meeting at 7:30AM.  

Fuel:  Various grades of fuel will be available at the track, some by advanced order. 

Food will be available at the track.

Event requirements


We follow PCA DE guidelines.  Please pay attention to the race seat belt requirements for Zone 8.  

All participants must sign the insurance waivers at the gate prior to entry.

We accept completed Tech Forms from any legitimate auto repair focused business. Self teching is not allowed. You can use the form here http://ccc.pca.org/de-forms/   Be aware that a completed tech form for your car must be completed and emailed to Bob Bruington Aircooled911sc@gmail prior to the event.  If you are near San Luis Obispo, we offer a free tech at SGS Independent Porsche Care, 750 Francis St., San Luis Obispo, CA, Date to be determined. Please have the full tech completed prior to attending the event! 

Proper clothing will be mandatory. Cotton long sleeve tee shirt, full length cotton pants, closed toe shoes.

 Zone 8 requirements for car numbers are 8" height minimum, 1" stroke/width minimum and legible at a distance of 100 feet for the sides of the car and for the front hood of the car. Alternatively, front numbers may be mounted on the upper right corner of the windshield (from the driver’s perspective) with a minimum height of 4 inches. Rear numbers are required with a minimum height of 4 inches

All drivers must have a minimum of four days high speed track experience, signed off by a PCA Instructor or have an instructor assigned to them for this event.
