Car Control Clinic - May 29

Crows Landing

About this event

Before registering, please read the entire Car Control Clinic Overview for important information and required forms for the day of the event. Please also see the FAQs.

Imagine knowing what to do when your car begins to slide, or being confident during a panic stop. Car control skills are learned techniques that help you to be a safer driver in everyday situations. Further, car control skills are fundamental to performance driving. Explore your limits and your car’s limits in a controlled setting.

The May 29, 2022 Car Control Clinic will be held at NASA Crows Landing Airport and Test Facility. Check-in for registered students opens at 8:00 AM. Lunch is included. The event concludes at 5:30 PM. The cost is $220 for BMW CCA members. The cost is $278 for non-members, which includes a one year membership in the BMW CCA for $58.

The CCCs are open to all club members. If you have been thinking about attending a track school, clinics are a prerequisite for first-time track school students. Registration for this event is first-come, first-served, so if you’re one of those students, don’t wait too long to register for this event!

The program is structured for people without any formal performance driving experience. Each participant receives personalized instruction provided by experienced club instructor

Important COVID-19 information:
All persons attending this event, participants, guests and staff alike, must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, in enough time before the event (typically two weeks for most vaccines) so that it will be at full effectiveness by the time of the event. If you have further questions please contact us at carcontrol@ggcbmwcca.org.

Event requirements

Registration must be made in advance by filling out and submitting an on-line application. The student roster will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Once all the open seats have been filled, further registrants will automatically be placed on a waiting list, from which seats that open up later will be filled in order of registration.

Each driver must be registered separately in their own name, and must have their own Motorsportreg.com profile. Only on-line credit card payment or electronic check will be accepted. You may not register at the event. We will be using the e-mail address in your Motorsportreg.com profile to contact you about any issues with your registration and to send you further information about the event, so please make sure that this address is a good way to contact you.

You must be a member of (or join) the BMW Car Club of America to participate. You do not have to own a BMW to join the BMW CCA or to participate in our driving events.

If you are already a member of the BMW CCA please include your Membership Number in your registration. If this information is not provided, your registration may be canceled. If you are not a BMW CCA member you may purchase your membership with your registration.

If you live in a household with an active member, you may call the national office of the BMW CCA at 1 (800) 878-9292 to become an associate member for $10. If you go that route, provide your associate membership number with your registration.

Helmets are not required for the clinic. If you wish to wear a helmet, it must meet the club’s helmet standards and must be inspected at check-in.

If you need this clinic as a prerequisite for a BMW CCA track school, keep in mind that you will not be placed on the clinic roster automatically. You must register and pay separately for this clinic. Please register early to make sure you get in.

Your car will have to pass a technical inspection at the event. The tech inspection form will be sent to registered students as part of the Student Packet that you will receive in advance to allow you to check your car ahead of time.

We restrict SUVs at the clinic due to their high centers of gravity. Some of the newer BMW X models as well as the Porsche Cayenne and Macan SAVs are exceptions to this policy. Convertibles are allowed at the clinic.  If there is a question about the appropriateness of your vehicle, please contact us at carcontrol@ggcbmwcca.org.

Before registering, please read the entire Car Control Clinic Overview for important information and required forms for the day of the event.  Please also see the FAQs.

If the event is full, please register anyway. You will be placed on a waiting list. We often have late cancelations, and fill empty seats from this list in order of registration. Also, if instructor registration reaches a certain threshold, we will accept more students into the clinic. We will contact you to make sure you are still interested before taking payment. In addition, by registering for the waiting list, you will get an email notification when registration opens for the next event.
