THIS EVENT IS LIMITED TO PORSCHE SANTA BARBARA MEMBERS ONLY
** THIS IS A RAIN OR SHINE EVENT **
This event may just be one of the highlights of the year. We meet at 8:00 in the parking lot of the Westlake Village Hyatt and depart promptly at 8:30. Carpooling is welcomed as our destination is The Petersen Automotive Museum located in West L.A. with mostly freeway driving. The Petersen is regarded as one of best automotive museums in the world.
Shortly after arrival, we will be escorted to their famous underground Vault where the museum’s limited-run Porsche engagement, ‘Magnus Walker: Urban Outlaw 10’, resides. Celebrating the 10th anniversary of “Urban Outlaw,” the award-winning documentary that detailed Magnus Walker’s journey from the tough streets of Sheffield, England, to lavish Los Angeles. We will have a personal tour of his chosen top 10 personally owned vehicles and artifacts on display. Our tour guide is none other than Magnus Walker himself! How grand is that?
Afterwards, we can either remain in the Vault and view the rest of the hidden gems (self-guided) and/or go back upstairs and have free range around their astonishing assortment of beautiful vehicles in their multi-level facility. The entire museum is for us to explore. You will also have access to other current limited-run exhibits, which include ‘Andy Warhol: Cars’, ‘Hypercars2 - The Allure of the Extreme’, and 'Inside Tesla: Supercharging the Electric Revolution’. As noon approaches, for those interested in lunch, stroll over to Meyers Manx Café, located in the museum. A suggested alternative for lunch is to drive over to Beverly Hills so you will already be near our next destination (next paragraph). In Beverly Hills, dine at Nate N' Al’s Deli, The Farm, Cheesecake Factory or Sharkey's Mexican. Reservations suggested for lunch spots.
"Our next destination"? No folks, it does not end here! After lunch in Beverly Hills we meet up with Bruce Meyer, Chairman and co-founder of The Petersen Museum. Bruce has an unbelievable stable of vehicles, as is described in the November 2022 issue of Panorama Magazine (cover story). Bruce will give us a tour talking about his amazing vehicles. We should conclude about 3 pm. Near Bruce’s location is a large public garage with free two-hour parking.
The cost is $78.00 per person, which covers all fees, excluding lunch. Register at msreg.com/petersenmuseum.
