Bertil Roos 3 Day and 2 Day Road Racing Week

Pocono Raceway

About this event

Two Racing Schools That Make Up An Entire Week Of High Speed Fun!

The Bertil Roos Road Racing Week is comprised of 2 different road racing schools: The Bertil Roos 3 Day Road Racing School, and the Bertil Roos 2 Day Advanced School. When Registering, you have the option of signing up for either one or both of these training-intense schools.

Bertil Roos 3 Day Road Racing School

This is a school that is intended for motorsports enthusiasts to take their first step in their motorsports hobby or racing career. Students will learn all the necessary fundamentals to driving a racecar on track at a high performance level. Students will be learning and practicing a broad range of knowledge and skills. Below are just a few of the quality reasons that so many students have attended our program and became successful in the world of motorsports.

  • Plenty of classroom instruction ensures that students are able to learn the fundamentals of road racing in a stress free environment.
  • Students will be assigned to their instructors to form a friendship that allows for more focused and more relaxed training.
  • The utilization of street cars on the racetrack means that students will get hands-on training with immediate feedback.
  • The Bertil Roos Racing School's patented "slidecars" give the best car control and hand-eye technique training in the world!
  • Controlled passing allows for students to learn and progress at their own pace, not someone else's.

The Bertil Roos 3 Day Road Racing School is a prerequisite for the Bertil Roos 2 Day Advanced Racing School. Students whom complete this program will also have gained all the necessary knowledge and skills to drive a car on track at a performance level. Students whom complete this program will also be eligible to apply for a vintage racing license and other performance driving organizations.

Bertil Roos 2 Day Advanced Racing School

*This program requires the completion of the Bertil Roos 3 Day Road Racing School, or other organization equivalent.

This school is all about passing and competing. Students whom attend this event will experience what it's like to be on track going wheel to wheel with other competitors' cars. The Bertil Roos Racing School implements this exposure via a gradual and safe process.

The first day of this program is entirely about getting students accustomed to driving with other cars on track. Starting off with practicing passing lines and ending with counter-attacks and taking advantage of opportune track situations.

The second day of this program will simulate a condensed competition weekend. Instructors will guide their students through tactically conducting race event practice, qualifying, and races.

By completing the Bertil Roos 2 Day Advanced School, students will be eligible to apply for various competition race licenses. For more information about applying for a race license, feel free to contact our office.

The Best Cars And Equipment For The Job!

The Bertil Roos Racing School heavily utilizes our patented Slidecars for the best car control and eye-technique training in the world. Our Slidecars simulate a lack-or-traction situation. No other piece of equipment in the world does this job like our slidcars.

The Bertil Roos Racing School utilizes in-house built formula cars that were designed by the school founder himself, Bertil Roos. Our cars are competition style Formula 2000 cars that have been redesigned for optimal safety and teaching purposes. Our cars run with a Ford 2.0L, 4 Valve engine that pushes 150bhp. With a weight of only 1200lbs, with the driver, our cars are capable of reaching 130mph in a draft and can stop on a dime! Front and rear wings on our cars allow cornering speeds capable of pulling up to 2Gs! Above performance, our cars have also been redesigned for safety. The entire chassis and roll bar are welded together with rigid steel that makes the car very durable and tank-like. A modern 5 point harness is installed in our cars to keep drivers safely secured as well. Each of our cars have different cockpit sizes, and the seat and pedals are fully adjustable, which allow for virtually any size driver!

Rain? Of Course We Race In The Rain!

The Bertil Roos Racing School will continue with the scheduled program rain or shine. Drivers whom experience a day in the rain will learn that driving in wet conditions is an art all on its own, and is more fun than it sounds. Driving in wet conditions is an opportunity to gain a good amount of car control experience and and really learning to feel what the car is doing. The only weather that will cause an event cancelation is stormy or extreme weather conditions. Please refer to our website (racenow.com) or call our office to learn about our weather-related cancelation policy.

Event requirements

Please review the following prior to the event.

Students wishing to take the Bertil Roos 2 Day Advanced School must complete a 3 Day Road Racing School, or other organization equivalent, prior to attending that program. Please contact our office for more information regarding prerequisite schools.

The Bertil Roos Racing School will provide loaner safety equipment to our students at no extra charge. If a student wishes to bring their own equipment, he/she must first have it approved by one of our instructors. Motorcycle helmets with an "M" are not permitted. Only helmets with a SNELL SA rating will be approved for use in our cars.

Closed-toed shoes are required. Boots are not recommended as they will not fit well in the cockpits of our cars. Loose, comfortable, but not baggy, clothing is recommended for the best comfort in our cars. Gloves are also recommended for driving our cars, but not required.

We recommend that all students review the provided important information packet, textbook, and track map prior to attending the program. This allows for a better understanding and reference throughout the program.

We ask that all attending students try to gain some familiarity with a standard/manual car transmission prior to attending our program. Our racecars' transmissions are standard and non-synchronized. Prior familiarity will allow operating our cars to be much less stressful.

All minors under the age of 18 participating in our event must be accompanied by a consenting adult. A valid driver's license is required to drive our racecars, but the Bertil Roos Racing School will make exceptions based on past driving experience. Please call our office to request an exception.

Any and all spectators are welcome but must sign our liability waiver during registration for our program. All spectators must also remain within the approved areas on track. Any children must be kept under strict supervision. Any pets brought to the event must remain on a leash or within a vehicle. Rules regarding spectators and pets are put in place for the safety of the spectators, the students/participants, and our staff. The Bertil Roos Racing School reserves the right to ask anyone whom neglects to adhere to our safety regulations to leave the event, however an initial warning will be given upon the first infraction.
