About this event
Bertil Roos 2 Day Grad Camp
*This program requires the completion of the Bertil Roos 2 Day Advanced School, wheel to wheel license or other organization equivalent.
This program is designed to give drivers extra seat time, coaching and wheel to wheel racing experience, without the pressures normally associated with participating in a race series event.
Day one of the program will be highlighted by several wheel-to-wheel sessions with instructors, a personalized curriculum and open passing between students. The development of consistency and the sharpening of race craft are the major objectives.
Day two will include a practice session and a qualifying session, followed by two 6-Lap and one 8-Lap race. Qualifying for the first race will be by lottery. Grid positions for the second race will be in the reverse order of finishing positions from the first race. The 8-Lap race will be in the order in which you qualify.
The unusual qualifying method is designed to provide all drivers with maximum opportunities for wheel-to-wheel dices, providing an expedited method of improving both race-craft and strategy.
The Best Cars And Equipment For The Job!
The Bertil Roos Racing School heavily utilizes our patented Slidecars for the best car control and eye-technique training in the world. Our Slidecars simulate a lack-or-traction situation. No other piece of equipment in the world does this job like our slidcars.
The Bertil Roos Formula R/T-2000 offers a unique handling characteristic that will appeal to both the beginner drivers, looking to develop their skills, and Bertil Roos veterans looking to take on a new challenge. This car is used exclusively at Palm Beach International Raceway and in our Bertil Roos Winter Race Series.
The car boasts a 140 hp, 2 liter, 4-cylinder, fuel injected engine and a 5-speed sequential transmission. Weighing just 1,400 lbs, the R/T 2000 is capable of speeds up to 130 mph and accelerates from 0-60 in just 4.5 seconds.
In the corners, the R/T-2000 can achieve up to 2g’s of lateral force on high performance radial tires. This allows students to feel both maximum traction and learn the subtleties of slip angle management that is paramount to mastering performance driving.
Rain? Of Course We Race In The Rain!
The Bertil Roos Racing School will continue with the scheduled program rain or shine. Drivers whom experience a day in the rain will learn that driving in wet conditions is an art all on its own, and is more fun than it sounds. Driving in wet conditions is an opportunity to gain a good amount of car control experience and and really learning to feel what the car is doing. The only weather that will cause an event cancelation is stormy or extreme weather conditions. Please refer to our website (racenow.com) or call our office to learn about our weather-related cancelation policy.

Students wishing to take the Bertil Roos 2 Day Grad Camp must complete a 2 Day Advanced Road Racing School, have a valid wheel to wheel racing license (example SCCA/FIA competition license) or other organization equivalent, prior to attending that program. Please contact our office for more information regarding prerequisite schools.
The Bertil Roos Racing School will provide loaner safety equipment to our students at no extra charge. If a student wishes to bring their own equipment, he/she must first have it approved by one of our instructors. Motorcycle helmets with an "M" are not permitted. Only helmets with a SNELL SA rating will be approved for use in our cars.
Closed-toed shoes are required. Boots are not recommended as they will not fit well in the cockpits of our cars. Loose, comfortable, but not baggy, clothing is recommended for the best comfort in our cars. Gloves are also recommended for driving our cars, but not required.
We recommend that all students review the provided important information packet, textbook, and track map prior to attending the program. This allows for a better understanding and reference throughout the program.
We ask that all attending students try to gain some familiarity with a standard/manual car transmission prior to attending our program. Our racecars' transmissions are standard and non-synchronized. Prior familiarity will allow operating our cars to be much less stressful.
All minors under the age of 18 participating in our event must be accompanied by a consenting adult. A valid driver's license is required to drive our racecars, but the Bertil Roos Racing School will make exceptions based on past driving experience. Please call our office to request an exception.
