SMSCC member Rachel Smith is the rallymaster for the August First Friday Niter, with an assist from Larry Scholnick. Rachel’s car gave its all for this rally – it was totaled during the writing of this rally. The rally is a tour, as in there are no traps. The route starts with the odometer check that ends in the Rye Canyon industrial park. From there the rally heads west along state highway 126 – sometimes on 126, sometimes not – but in all cases heading west. The rally does make a quick visit to a new housing development for a couple of new roads. The finish is Pizza Man Dan’s, 1413 S Victoria Ave, Ventura, 805-658-6666.
We are using the Richta GPS Competitor app for timing and scoring, with timing to the tenth of a second. All checkpoints are listed in the route instructions, with a Restart after each one. The maximum penalty for this FFN is 2 minutes (120 seconds) per leg. Before you arrive at the start, please download the Richta Competitor app to your phone; it's a free download for Android and Apple devices. There is no need for additional timing equipment, your Official Time shows in the app!

If that doesn't work, you can still register in person at the start. We start at the Bank of America rear lot, 10300 Sepulveda Blvd (Sepulveda and Devonshire) in Mission Hills. In-person registration opens at 7:00 pm, with the first car out at 8:01 pm; there is a beginner/Richta meeting at 7:40 pm.
