THIS EVENT HAS BEEN RESCHEDULED FROM FEBRUARY 12TH TO FEBRUARY 19TH DUE TO WEATHER CONDITIONS!
And now for something completely different! Come join your fellow Club members at 7pm on Friday, February 12th for a little stargazing at Broemmelsiek Park in Wentzville, MO. The Astronomical Society of Eastern Missouri has agreed to host us for a winter evening of looking at stars, planets and other heavenly bodies. They will have three telescopes set up and will show us the wonders of our universe. This is one of the very few public astronomy viewing areas in the US, with dedicated concrete pads and electricity.
It will be an outdoor event with lots of social distancing. Masks are required, and we must follow all local social distancing guidelines. If you wish to linger and socialize in socially distant small groups, bring a bag chair, binoculars, and dress warmly. Our plan was to have everyone bring their own refreshments to eliminate contact exposure. Hot cocoa or coffee is suggested. Alcohol is permitted, but no glass bottles are allowed. So feel free to be creative. There is a large parking lot and camping restrooms available.
This is not a driving event… we will meet at the Astronomy Site at Broemmelsiek Park in Wentzville. The official address is 1593 Schwede Road at Wilson Road, Wentzville, MO 63385. It is four miles south of Hwy 40/61 on Hwy DD. Driving directions caution - Schwede Road is a separate street North of the Main park entrance.
The date is Friday, Feb. 12 at 7pm. It is weather-dependent, and could possibly be canceled up to the day before the event. If so, you will be contacted via MSR, and the substitute date will be Friday, Feb. 19th at 7pm.
Because of the pandemic, registration is required at MotorsportReg.com until 11:59pm of Wednesday, Feb 10th. Print the COVID waivers in color from this link PCA Communicable Disease Waiver 20200625.pdf , sign them and bring them along.
