About this event
Please join us on the morning of Saturday, Sept. 21, 2024, for a PCA Milwaukee charitable outreach event in support of the Hunger Task Force of Milwaukee. With your participation, PCA Milwaukee will make a positive impact on reducing hunger in Milwaukee. Plan to arrive at the Hunger Task Force Farm (9000 South 68th Street, Franklin) at 8:30 a.m. for coffee and donuts and a welcome from Jordan Leitner (HTF Farm volunteer coordinator). Following that, we will tour the farm in an open wagon and learn about how the Farm fits into the overall strategy of HTF. Our main goal for the day will be to pick apples, a fairly low-effort experience that will help to feed the hungry of Milwaukee in a very healthy way. We will then help unload the cache and find out how many pounds of apples our efforts produced. There will be a contest for who can guess closest to the weight of apples picked. The winner will receive a $50 Visa gift card. After apple picking, lunch will be provided.
We are not making donations to Hunger Task Force mandatory, but they would be greatly appreciated. If you would like to make a donation, please bring checks made out to Hunger Task Force of Milwaukee. If you are unable to attend and would still like to donate, please mail your check to Hunger Task Force, 5000 W Electric Avenue, West Milwaukee, WI 53219. Please add a note "Donation via PCA-MKE" on the memo line.
There are (3) options available for Cousins lunch sandwiches. Please make your choice when registering.
1) Ham
2) Turkey
3) Vegetarian
We need to know your preference(s) so that we can order the correct quantities of each. Water and chips will be provided for the lunch.
