ACNW QuattroFest '17

Portland Int'l Raceway

About this event

Audi Club Northwest welcomes members to Portland International Raceway (PIR) for QuattroFest 2017, sponsored this year by Portland Audi Dealers!  This year we will be celebrating the history of PIR.

QuattroFest has been our signature event at PIR for 23 years, with driving activities for adults and teens on both days, a Reception and Banquet on Saturday evening, and access to the attractions of metropolitan Portland easily available by car or MAX light rail trains to downtown right from the track. November 4-5 is a weekend that the whole family can enjoy.

The PIR facility is a City of Portland Park with enough room to simultaneously run lapping sessions and skills exercises on Saturday, making it ideal for driving schools like QuattroFest. This physical arrangement also allows QuattroFest to hold a Full Autocross, which will be available all day Sunday. The track has two miles of asphalt for everyone to enjoy. Easy to learn but challenging to perfect, PIR has a storied history.  It has hosted many huge events including CART, IMSA, Trans Am, ALMS, NASCAR, and other national racing series.

On Saturday, the driving event starts with our Drivers Skills (DS) program for novice drivers, and lapping for more experienced drivers.

Learning to be better drivers is what Audi Club Northwest is all about and fits perfectly with the Teen Driver Clinic that is part of the Driver Skills event. With an emphasis on giving the next generation of drivers the skills they need to be safe on the road, the Teen Driver Clinic provides a fun platform for teens to improve their skills on the road. In an effort to ensure as much participation as possible, fees for the Teen Clinic have been subsidized by our generous sponsors. Drivers Skills students will participate in an Autocross on Saturday afternoon.

Our Saturday Banquet includes the now-famous Live Auction and a Silent Auction. A casual Reception starts at 6:00pm at the Red Lion in Jantzen Beach, OR.  The banquet follows at 7:00pm sharp. Plan on a terrific buffet dinner with wonderful friends, good food, and an entertaining experience for Audi enthusiasts.

On Sunday, you go back to the track and continue with either HPDE Lapping or Full Autocross all day.

The club is again excited to offer a Cars and Coffee event on Sunday in the QuattroFest parking area. All makes and models are invited to participate in this free event. The Coffee Bus will be on-site Sunday morning to meet any caffeine needs you may have! The Cars and Coffee event will start at 9:00 and everyone is welcome to stay as long as you want. Helmets will be available for those who want to get a ride on the track with an Audi Club Northwest instructor.

Event requirements

Everyone must sign the Release and Waiver for Audi Club Northwest’s insurance coverage when coming onto the facility.  This requirement includes drivers, instructors, teens, guests and visitors. The full text of this Release and Waiver is on the next screens.  Please read it carefully.  Please contact the Event Master or Registrar prior to the event with any questions.

A Chalk Talk is required for Driver Skills (DS) attendees, and recommended for all. It is being held at the track on Saturday morning. Don't be late.

Convertibles and roadsters are not permitted to run high speed driver training or lapping events unless equipped with an approved aftermarket 4-point roll bar or rollcage in the car, and 4-point ASM(anti submarining), 5-point or 6-point harnesses. Equal restraints must be provided for both the passenger and the driver. For example, harnesses with 4, 5, or 6 point mounts used by the driver, must also be provided for the front seat passenger. The roll bar must pass the “broomstick rule” such that a broomstick from the top of the windshield to the top of the roll bar is over the head of the driver. The TT convertible, A4 Cabriolet and S4 Cabriolet will not qualify for tech inspection without an aftermarket roll bar. The Audi Club North America policy is posted on the Audi Club North America website under Event Rules for your review.

Sport Utility Vehicles (SUVs, SAVs, CUVs), trucks and other high-roll-center vehicles may be permitted on a case by case basis. Email the event master Pat Martin if you have questions on this.

Saturday lapping has very limited on-track instruction available.  If you are not signed off solo and an instructor is not available your registration may be converted to Saturday DS & Autocross/Sunday Lapping with proper credits applied.  Please inquire. The club will try to have instructors available for anyone who wants coaching, and for those who are not signed off to Intermediate (solo). Please indicate the signoff in your Log Book for driver skill level when that question appears in the registration process.

Cancellation Policy for this event:  It is the entrant's responsibility for preparing and bringing a vehicle meeting the technical requirements. If your car fails morning tech at the track and cannot be fixed, you will not be able to run and you will not get a refund.

- Cancellation received before the registration Closing Date (typically a week prior to the event) entitles the driver to a 100% refund.

- Cancellation received after the Closing Date, but more than three or more full days prior to the event, entitles the driver to a 50% refund.

- No refunds or credits will be given if cancelled within three full days prior to the event, or a no-show.

- No refunds will be issued due to halting an event for any reason - rain, incident, etc.

Any refunds due under this policy will be issued as soon as practical after an event.
If you must cancel, please do so early so that we may allow another participant into your space. Any refunds due under the cancellation policy will be issued as soon as practical after the event.

Helmets are required for the Full Autocross on Sunday, as well as all HPDE Lapping sessions.  Helmets are NOT required for the DS Exercises on Saturday morning nor for the DS Autocross on Saturday afternoon.

Our Helmet Requirement for this event is for Snell 2005 or later. The SA (Special Application-Automotive), M (Motorcycle) and K (Karting) designators are approved for 2016. We have 28 club helmets in various sizes available for rent ($25) on a first come, first serve basis.  If you still need a helmet but they are all rented out at the time of your registration, please make a note in the registration comments that you need one.  We cannot guarantee that one will become available however.  You will not be allowed to participate without a helmet.
