I’m Luis, a complete car nut with a passion for automotive design and motorsports. I grew up in a family of auto mechanics so it’s no surprise that I love cars. As a kid I would go to cars shows or local races and actually began taking photos at these events. I started taking photos with a polaroid instant film camera, moved to disposables, then a phone and eventually to a DSLR. Other than taking a 3 month online course I haven’t officially studied photography. All of what I have learned has been from researching online, asking other photographers questions and practicing out alongside mountain roads or on the track. I started my Motorsports photography 3 years ago but did not fully pursue it until Covid locked down the Inland Empire. Many photography opportunities closed their doors but racing still took place at the Auto Club Speedway where I began shooting with SCCA Cal Club at the start of the pandemic. From this opportunity shooting with SCCA I have expanded my reach to NMCA_West and to POC. I am currently Lead Media with POC for all of their AX and Circuit races, and have had the opportunity to have my photos published in POC’s Velocity Magazine for the last year.
