Join us for a tech session on solving some Mercedes 722.6 transmission challenges on Tuesday August 18th at 7 pm EDT via Zoom.  Peachtree Past President and Technical Director Gary Edwards will present a discussion on what he’s learned about the 722.6 transmission after having to deal with several issues.

This transmission is used in many Mercedes from the mid-1990s well into the 21st century. The list is long: it was used in at least some of each of the following chassis - 202, 203, 204, 208, 209, 140, 210, 211, 220, 215, 216, 230, 170, 171, 129, 199, 212, 163, 463 - due to its high horsepower capabilty some of the cars with the higher horsepower engines used it up to 2014.  It was used in many other cars as well including various Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep chassis up until 2020.

Gary comments, “I had previously seen issues with connector sleeve leakage causing odd faults and had some problems with accurately setting the fluid level. Recently though, I had one go into transmission limp mode which eventually required replacing the conductor plate. For this tech session, I'll talk about each of these issues all of which can be dealt with by the home hobbyist."  He plans to cover accurately determining fluid level, replacing the connector sleeve, inspecting and cleaning the transmission control unit and replacing the conductor plate. 

The tech session will be conducted via Zoom Video Teleconference.  No NEED to leave your home.  You can easily join the ZOOM meeting by computer, IPhone, IPad, Android device, or by telephone (though if you join by phone you'll miss out on the pictures). We intend to record this presentation, so if you don't want to show up in the video or audio, leave your camera off and stay muted.

Ground Rules:  1.  Stay muted unless called upon.  2. Enter the Zoom meeting with the same name you register under. 3. Chat your questions "to everybody".  We'll pause periodically to answer questions, but if you know the answer to a question go ahead and chat an answer.

On the day before the event you will receive an e-mail with the link to the ZOOM meeting. We will plan to have the ZOOM meeting up by 6:45 p.m. EDT so we can hopefully get technical issues out of the way.  Don’t wait to register, as we are limited to only 100 attendees.
