Hosted by Franklin Daniels at the Blue Ridge School, approximately 20 minutes from Charlottesville, 25 minutes from Harrisonburg, 75 minutes from Warrenton, and 90 minutes from Richmond. 

This event will offer 4 exciting elements:

1. A presentation on modernizing your SAAB 
2. A Car Show
3. A scenic SAAB driving Rally through the Blue Ridge Mountains
4. A sit down lunch and wine tasting

 

Schedule of Events

9:45 AM - Arrive at Blue Ridge School - 273 Mayo Drive, St. George, Virginia 22935. Enter via the main gates and follow signs to Battle House.

10:00 AM - SAAB Town Hall

On Sunday, August 2, 2026(10:00 AM - 3:00 PM) we will be having our 1st Annual FREE Virginia/SCNA - SAAB Car Show/Rally Event at the magnificent, top ranked, private 800 acre Blue Ridge School campus, which is nestled at the base of the Blue Ridge Mountains and encompassed by breathtaking 360º mountain views. Located in St. George(Dyke), VA, the grounds are simply awe-inspiring with; a serene lake, several ponds and glistening streams. Rich in history, many of the buildings were designed by the prolific Boston architect, Ralph Adams Cram and 2 of the campus' structures have been listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Founded in 1909, Blue Ridge School is an all-boys, all-boarding college preparatory school serving 180-185 students in grades 9-12. In 2025/26, students hailed from 21 American states and 34 countries around the world. The campus is renowned for its natural beauty, splendid views of the mountains, as well as more than 21 miles of purpose built hiking and mountain biking trails which are open to the public.   

1.  The SAAB Town Hall  will be in the elegant Victorian Gothic Martha Bagby Battle House adjacent to the main lake. For those captivated by 16th - century Gothic Revival architecture, no need to travel to England ---- this building checks all of the boxes; rustic stone, decorative patterns, drip mould, gable roof and fieldstone. As our SAABs are getting up in mileage and finding replacement parts gets challenging, several are succumbing to; mechanical issues, rust and/or accidents that inevitably take them off of the road. Fortunately, there is a strong and purposeful, yet quiet movement to; 3D print parts, machine better replacements and develop completely new systems that enhance longevity, improve performance and reliability and increase gas mileage. Jake Tudisco is our feature speaker and he is currently working on some interesting new projects that will fill a much needed gap. Jake got into SAABs in high school, when his dad bought a 2007 9-3, since then he has owned 7 NG9-3s, ranging from 2005 to 2010, 2.0 and 2.8s. Jake went to school for mechanical engineering and worked part time in the Air National Guard as an Avionics technician, where he learned about electronic troubleshooting and wiring principals. Jake started his own business this year, JTE, which focuses on automotive electronics and performance parts. In his presentation, Jake will touch on leveraging the GM parts bin for NG9-3s and NG9-5s, along with some worthwhile modifications. He will also cover what he has planned for his Turbo X and the plug and play he plans to have ready later this year. As a special treat, Jake will have his demo 2008 SAAB 9-3 Turbo X on display, to give us all the opportunity to see his accomplishments in the flesh.
2.  The SAAB Car Show will crown; People's Choice, Best In Show, Blue Ridge Champion and The Claude Ripley Award.
3.  The SAAB Driving Rally Lunch will take place on the scenic ascend up the Blue Ridge Mountains to one of the best kept secrets on the East Coast ---- Lydia Mountain Lodge. We will be treated to a splash of charm and serenity upon arriving at the restaurant, not to mention, a memorable experience for the palate. 
4.  We will conclude the day with an expedition back down the mountain, experiencing a few twisties and through a quaint town which houses a very eclectic car collection that is tucked in a mix of new buildings and the old town's stores of yesteryears ---- enroute to the Bryant family's winery gem - The Barn @ 678.
