Ironstone Concours Weekend in Murphys
Redwood Region Porsche Club of America
September 22-24, 2023
The PCA Redwood Region will be hosting the 2nd Annual Weekend in Murphys, California, for the The Ironstone Concours d'Elegance Weekend! at:
Last year's event was so overwhelmingly popular, 90% of our members reserved their rooms (upon checkout last year) for 2023! There are a few rooms left in downtown Murphys between The Victoria Inn and Murphys Historic Hotel & Lodge (Check in Friday Sept 22nd - Check out Sunday Sept 24th). You may choose to arrive early on the 23rd or even the 22nd as there are lots of things to do in Murphys.
VERY IMPORTANT: If you are interested in securing one of the few remaining hotel rooms in downtown Murphys, contact Jeff Hall @ 415-686-5020 immediately as those rooms will disappear fast!
Murphy’s is proximate to historic towns such as Angel’s Camp, Columbia, Sonora and others. There are multiple lodging accomodations, particularly in Angels Camp, a short distance away – lodging is separate from this registration and will be your responsibility!!
You can download the Visitors Guide to Calaveras County here: for a guide to lodging, wineries, galleries, restaurants and attractions.
There will be PCA-Redwood Events (tours, BBQ dinner, etc.) driving up to, and while in Murphys. More to come on these events soon.
There are also plenty of wineries, shops, restaurants, and back roads to be explored individually depending on your tastes.
*Registering on MSR is for the following ONLY:
- Friday evening BBQ Dinner at Murphys Historic Hotel
- General Admission Tickets to the Concours
- Interest in Tours from Jelly Belly to Murphys with Lunchbreak
- Interest in Tours while in Murphys
*Again, and very important:
To inquire/reserve the very few rooms we have left in Murphys call Jeff Hall @415-686-5020. Do not contact the hotels as they are sold out.
For 26 consecutive years the Ironstone Concours d’Elegance has been held on the 1100-acre estate of the Ironstone Vineyards Winery and Historic Museum in Murphys, California; in the heart of the famous 1849 California Gold Rush.
The show features over 300 period-correct automobiles through 1973 including classic, vintage, antique and race cars, vintage trailers, and commercial/military vehicles as well as agricultural engines and a display of modern exotic cars. Unique to Ironstone is the pre-1920 race car rides on a dirt track, Amphicar rides in the lake and a race car engine start.
Featured vehicle marques vary from year to year—such names as Packard, Duesenberg, Pierce-Arrow, BMW, Corvette, Studebaker, Bentley and Rolls-Royce. Special classes spotlight early Fords, streamlined cars, sports cars, exotics, race cars, coachbuilt luxury marques plus significant unrestored and original automobiles.
The 27th anniversary event to be held in 2023 will feature a new addition of speaker forums for both race cars and classic cars with industry leadership addressing the spectators.
Proceeds from the Ironstone Concours d’Elegance benefit Central and Northern California youth in agriculture, notably Future Farmers of America (FFA) and 4-H. In addition, the nonprofit Ironstone Foundation has helped fund the California State FFA headquarters in Galt, California; scholarships in partnership with the California State Fair; and the Calaveras County Fair scholarship program.
