2026 PVGP Vintage Races at Schenley Park

Schenley Park Race Circuit

About this event

A RETURN TO THE ICONIC CIRCUIT “You Need to Be Here” as the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix returns to its iconic Schenley Park circuit with the anticipated reopening of the Panther Hollow Bridge. Racers will once again cross the bridge, thread past historic stone walls, and charge through the golf course in front of 100,000 enthusiastic fans. The Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix has a rich history of racing through the stone-walled, tree-lined streets of Schenley Park since 1983. Fans line the snow fence to watch the races through the idyllic park setting. This is the highlight of our Motorsport Festival. PVGP homepage for Schenley Park Races

FINISH LINE RETURNS TO PHIPPS Our Start/Finish line will be moving back to Phipps Conservatory, where it was when we started racing in 1983 - restoring Phipps as the focal point of on-track action.

JAGUAR MARQUE OF THE YEAR The International Jaguar Festival joins us, and we are expecting a large contingent of Jaguars to race with us.

ELIGIBILITY THROUGH 1987 New this year, the PVGP is expanding vehicle eligibility to include model years through 1987, thoughtfully modernizing select classes while welcoming exciting new cars to the grid. Final acceptance of later-model sports cars remains at the discretion of the PVGP Competition Committee to ensure competitive balance while preserving the spirit, authenticity, and camaraderie of vintage racing. For the Sports Car Over 2.0 Liters we are increasing displacement to under 3.3 Liters.

IMPROVED PAVEMENT  Drivers will benefit from significant course improvements. Extensive repaving has enhanced key sections of the circuit, providing smoother surfaces while preserving the technical challenges. The massive stone wall along the Serpentine that collapsed in 2019 has been rebuilt, and we look forward to racing flat-out through the thrilling ‘S’ turns without the need for caution flags.

44th YEAR The PVGP celebrates its 44th year this summer. Many thanks to the racers who make this possible and to the race-side volunteers who keep everyone safe. This began as a single-day race on the Labor Day weekend in 1983 and has since expanded into a full two-week motorsport event.

CHARITY MISSION The driving goal of the PVGP is to honor our automotive history by encouraging the preservation and racing of vintage cars in a format that emphasizes driver safety and etiquette while presenting a friendly and welcoming atmosphere for our drivers. Since 1983, our racers have shared the wheel with the PVGP, donating more than $7 million to support individuals affected by autism and intellectual and developmental disabilities. Entry fees are suggested donations and are tax-deductible.

TEST & TUNE (June 12, 2026 at Nelson Ledges) Allegheny Region Porsche Club of America has set aside a run group for PVGP vintage racers to sort their cars before the Schenley Park race weekend. $300 includes 4 sessions. (The $300 Test and Tune fee will appear as a separate charge to your credit card).

AXIS vs ALLIES RACE Always a driver (and fan) favorite. The last race of the day is on Saturday afternoon. A $75 donation is requested for this special race.
