About this event

Thank you for your interest in BMW CCA Club Racing. BMW CCA Club Racing is the premier club racing organization in North America. Our emphasis is on providing our BMW CCA members a safe, fun and competitive racing experience at some of the greatest racetracks in North America.

In order to apply for a BMW CCA Club Racing license, you need to graduate from our BimmerWorld BMW CCA Club Racing School or have a current license from another recognized sanctioned racing organization (IMSA, SCCA, NASA, PCA, WRL, etc.). In addition to having a current license, you must also be able to provide documentation of 2-3 years of safe racing experience, preferably at a variety of race tracks across North America.

Event requirements

There are three paths for obtaining your BMW CCA Club Racing license.

1. You graduated from the BimmerWorld BMW CCA Club Racing School within the past 2 years.

Graduates of our BimmerWorld BMW CCA Club Racing School will receive a rookie license. In order to receive a full competition license, you’re required to safety participate in four race weekends within 2 years of receiving your rookie license.

You need the following documents to complete this application process:

2. You hold a current racing license from another sanctioned racing organization.

If you hold a current license from IMSA, SCCA, NASA, PCA, WRL, etc., you may be eligible for a provisional BMW CCA Club Racing license. In order to receive a full competition license, you’re required to safety participate in four race weekends with BMW CCA Club Racing within 2 years.

You need the following documents to complete this application process:

  • Physician’s Examination and Medical History package (page 4 only*) which includes your physician´s review and signature https://bmwccaclubracing.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/Medical-Form-2020.pdf. The physical form can be substituted with a current (within one year) medical clearance from your racing organization. Be sure this information is current and meets all the BMW CCA Club Racing medical requirements
  • A recent passport-size photo
  • A copy of your current, valid racing license from IMSA, SCCA, NASA, PCA, WRL, etc.
  • Documentation (vehicle logbook) of 2-3 years of safe racing experience preferably at a variety of race tracks across North America
  • Two (2) references known to BMW Club Racing (phone number and email address) who can attest to your on-track safety record and good sportsmanship

* Due to HIPAA requirements, only upload page 4 of the Physician’s Examination and Medical History package. You can either scan the form (page 4 only) or take a photo with your smartphone and combine into a PDF or Word doc for upload.

3.  You hold a valid license from a sanctioning body that is a member of the VIntage Motorsports Council.

Your race experience must be current - at least 4 races wtithin the past 2 years.  If you meet these requirements, you may be granted a vintage run group only license. Your application will be carefully reviewed by the BMW CCA Club Racing licensing team and you will be notified within 10 days of the decision. 

You will need the following information to complete the provisional application:

  • Medical form (ONLY Page 4) with all the fields completely filled out with your physician’s signature
  • A recent passport-style photo of yourself
  • Your current BMW CCA membership card

MEDICAL REQUIREMENTS

i. A current and complete physical examination medical is required.

a. A current medical examination submitted in conjunction with licensing by another recognized sanctioning body may also be accepted (the examination date shall be no more than six months prior to the expiration date of the existing racing license from the other organization).

ii. A compete physical examination must be submitted:

a. every five (5) years for those 16 - 39 years of age

b. every three (3) years for those 40 - 49 years of age

c. every two (2) years for those 50 - 59 years of age

d. each year for those 60 years of age and older

iii. Except for examinations submitted under the provisions of section D.i.a above, the examination date shall be no more than six months prior to the expiration date of the existing BMW CCA CR license, or six months prior to the date of the initial BMW CCA CR application.

iv. During the period of license and medical eligibility, racers are required to immediately notify BMW CCA Club Racing if there is any change in medical condition at any time differing from what is recorded in the applicant’s submitted Medical form.
