Open Lapping days Available for Existing RMVR Racers
This year we have a new format for the Driver’s School weekend to be held April 22-23, 2023 in La Junta, Colorado. There are four ways to participate.
AS A STUDENT: Intended for those seeking a full Competition License with the goal of becoming an RMVR Licensed Driver. WARNING - If you take this School, you will become addicted to speed! Seriously, the acclaimed RMVR Drivers' School is the greatest racing value around. Period! And you’ll learn to race in a safe and fun manner. Students must have his/her race car ready, or borrow/rent a race car, they will have to go to another Vintage club school, a Pro Driving School (ie Pettiford) , or wait till 2024. Sorry.
If you are unfamiliar with this MotorsportsReg system (MSR) here are some instructions and hints. Basically, if you don't have an MSR account, you need to create one to be able to register for the School. If the Instructions don't help, please call RMVR's Administrator, Linae, 303-319-3062 for help.
Entry Fee is $525 (To be charged to your credit card after the race weekend.) Sign up before April 1, 2023 to get the Early Bird $25 discount. Registration closes 04/17/2023 (midnight). If you have to register after that, there will be a $100 Late Fee.
In addition to Sat./Sun. activities, there will also be a brief classroom session on Friday evening the 21st from 5:30pm to 6:00pm. Please plan on attending.
The Registration Desk (to check in, sign waivers, etc.) in the classroom from 2:00 - 5:30 pm on Friday as well as Saturday morning from 7:00-8:00am. Really best to get signed in on Friday evening.
AS AN INSTRUCTOR: No entry fee to help, but you MUST register “As an Instructor” and your 2023 Club dues must be current. Bring your experience and enthusiasm to help bring the Students into the RMVR family. "Pay it forward" to help RMVR grow.
LAPPING DAYS for EXISTNG RMVR RACERS: This year Friday, Saturday, and/or Sunday are available as Open Lapping Day Sessions, +PLUS. Get you and your race car ready for the season. Cost is $100 per day. (No street cars, only race cars.) Your 2023 Club dues must be current.
- Lapping Day Friday is a Track Run day (not RMVR). $100 Fee. To register for the Friday Lapping Day go directly with La Junta Raceway via their website or contact the track manager, Allan, at 719-469-1424.
- Lapping Day for any RMVR Racer on Saturday or Sunday is $100 per day, both Saturday and Sunday $160. To Register, use the appropriate Lapping Day choices on this event's registration page. Instructors can’t do Lapping Days and vice versa,

Now for another +PLUS for the weekend. There is a Saturday Evening Dinner at the La Junta Fairway located right by the track at the La Junta Municipal Airport. The Pasta Buffet Style Dinner is FREE to students, Instructors, and Volunteers! For all others (Spouses or crew, Lapping Day Drivers and their spouses and crew, or event visitors) it is $15. Additional tickers (e.g. for spouse, crew or guests) can be purchased when registering for the event. The buffet style dinner will be Penne Noodles, Marinara Sauce, Alfredo Sauce House made Meatballs and Grilled Chicken, and House Salad. Sitting is limited to 95 guest at the Fairway Inn so keep that in mind if you are interested in the pasta dinner. An Annual Tech will be required for all cars, Student's, Instructor's or Lapper's cars. PLEASE get this done BEFORE arriving for the School. Don't rely on the offer for an At-Track Inspection. That's for emergency use only.
