About this event
It's BACK!
Note - As of March 30th we are already in a waiting list situation for all - including NNJR members.
We will add people as spots open. Assume you are on the waiting list unless you receive a confirmation.
This Is NNJR-PCA's annual Car Control Clinic, held at MetLife Stadium, Lot L, SUNDAY April 30, 2023.
This event is held once each year and sells out quickly. You must pre-register.
This is a fabulous, and once-a-year opportunity to learn about and experience proper high performance driving in a convenient, one-day, safe, instructed environment.
No vehicle class is required. You will automatically be assigned "FUN" to keep the computers happy :-)
No numbers are required.
This event operates rain or shine.
Volunteer Instructors: THANK YOU. Please email Bill Gilbert.
Your credit card informaiton will be collected, but you will not be charged until 2 weeks before the event.
This is a full day event (arrive by 8, leave ~ 4:00 based on how we proceed), split into morning and afternoon sessions. You must stay the entire day. You drive one session and work the other session. The event depends on you working when you are not driving, so that others may have the same opportunity you did.
PCA members have priority in the (likely) event that we are overbooked.
When driving, you will be paired with an instructor who will help you explore your car's potential, and yours. There are a series of exercizes including braking, slalom, and skidpads. We (hope to) have the East Rutherford Fire Department in attendance to wet down the circuit for us.
Registration is $100 per PCA **student** (not per car). Two people may share a car (morning/afternoon), but each must register and pay the registration fee. Please notify us of shared vehicles so we may schedule you. If you have a helmet, please bring it, if you can borrow one, please do. We do have a few loaners available, but not enough for everyone. A helmet is legally required, and essential for your safety.
There will be an instructional talk from our Chief Instructor, a short lunch break (please bring, food, water, there is no time to leave the site), and of course the main driving sessions. More instructions will be sent to you closer to the event.
No special preparation is required for your vehicle, but it will be inspected for safety on site. Make sure everything is in good working order, and tight. Inflate tires to the manufacturer's specified pressure. The car must be empty. Remove anything loose from the car before you leave. On site you will be asked to even remove floor mats etc. (safety), so bring a container to store them.
Minors 17 years or older with a license may participate. They must be accompanied by a parent who must sign their minor waiver. The parent must remain the entire time.
Please arrive by 8:00am. We should conclude by about 4:00pm.
Event requirements
All you need is a car (does not even need to be a Porsche), and yourself! You should have appropriate shoes (driving shoes or sneakers are fine...no open toe shoes). Short-sleeves and shorts are OK. If you have a 2010/15/20 SA or M rated helmet, please bring it. Otherwise, we have a few loaner helmets available. Balaclavas may also be available for purchase.
